There is a man sitting out in the field at a market, and he's at a treadle machine. He will do sewing "to order while you wait," right out there in the field with his treadle! Naturally that photo just HAD to be included in the quilt!!!

I just used Jeanie's printing suggestions on a quilt top (not yet finished.) My daughter went to Uganda last month and bought several pieces of African fabric at local markets. I took two of the most graphic and cut them up to make a rail fence design, using black fabric of my own and printing some of my favorites of the many pictures she took, to fill in from place to place.

This will still get a 3 inch border out of a tiny zebra stripe fabric and then I'll have to figure out how I'm going to quilt it! It will end up about 60" wide and 72" long.
