Randi, what a great block! Great color choices! Love your vase! There is really movement of color in there!

My July block is now posted in my profile!! (WOW--Noticed that TQS webmasters have upped the number of quilts we can post to 12, from 6.) Started the August block and may even have it finished in August... Everyone is doing such a wonderful job on their blocks--like others have said already, I am enjoying everyone's creativity with this project. I really wish I could travel to La Veta with the group. I'm still scheming in my imagination how I could make that happen.

Hi Steven no my star quilt is strip piecing cut into the diamond points of the star. It was made before the paper piecing got popular. But I hear that is the preferred method now and would like to try it.

Patti:
thanks for the words of encouragement! I'm catching up! I have less than two weeks now to try to finish August.....we'll see if i can do it!
I like your quilts! Are they paper pieced? I'm working on a paper pieced quilt for my niece's graduation from high school (next year). NINE mariner's compasses then surround by tons of applique! YIKES.
wish me luck.--Steven

Hey Margo:
Thanks for the email....I checked my image, and it says it IS a jpeg image.
Not sure how to change it. Sorry. La Veta in 2009 sounds like fun...will have to see if schedule permits.

Hmmmm....I must have had grimlins in my computer this morning! Thanks! Your blocks are great!

Margo, thanks for the tutorial link!!!!
Judy, thanks for you comments, I'm happy so far with how it's all turning out.....I'm amazed really.
And the big news today is: I JUST FINISHED the July block (shown on my profile) which means that even tho I started this BOM in April, I'm now only 18 days behind.....I'm hopeful that I will be able to catch up by the end of the month! Yay!

Love your BOM's Steven, I really like how you used a plaid for the berries in your May block.

Welcome Steven to the BOM SQUAD! Your blocks are great and we are glad to have you join us. If you haven't found it yet, I've posted some tutorials about needle-turn applique on my website along with all of the BOM blocks that have been posted so far. I've just added yours, too! It's such fun to see how many different ways the blocks have been interpreted!

Never Fear! 14 Aug 2008 06:51 #24116

Lorna, never fear! There is always someone further behind than you....namely ME! I have the first 4 blocks done then I had to switch over to wedding mode. My DD's wedding is August 30th so after that I can try to play catch up all fall. I do have the patterns printed for all my missing months, but other than that, I will be starting from scratch. I haven't lost hope that I will finish the BOM but I know it will be well behind all the others. Reading all the posts and seeing all your blocks is keeping my interest up so I want to thank all the BOM Squad. I just dont need another half finished WHIP in my life. Keep Smiling, Sally in coolish NE Ohio

Everyone's blocks are so wonderful. Thanks to all. Your blocks provide me the inspriation to try to keep up with this BOM. It really is a lot of fun.
I can't believe how far behind I am for the July and August blocks. I have been meeting deadlines on a few other quilts. (I turned in my guild's challenge quilt on time!) Last weekend I did all the prep work for my July block. I am doing mine by needle turn. I am sewing on the last leaves and stems now. I love all those cute little leaves. I should get all the pretty blossoms and hopefully the vase sewn on this weekend. Then on to the berries... and August's block. Yeah!
