I can't resist doing this beautiful BOM. I completed 2009 BOM, but it was very stressful for me trying to keep up. I did the blocks for 2010 applique BOM, but really lost interest in the project along the way and it never turned into a quilt. I sat out 2011. This year I'm giving myself permission to NOT keep up. After all, BOM means Block of the Month, not 9 or 12 blocks each month and 80 someodd blocks in the busiest month of the year, December!

I take frequent computer breaks, because sewing/cutting is hard on my neck. It begins to hurt after a while, being in the down position. So, I just get up and come to the computer, so I can stare straight ahead for a while. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Hi everyone, As soon as I saw the Sedona Star I knew I would be doing it. The colours used by Sarah are amazing and I have chosen fabrics with similar colourings, especially the bright pinks and blues. Have finished the inner circle which went together like a breeze. So happy with that. I also completed the 2010 BOM and close to finishing 2011(just loved Sue's little baskets and multi coloured swags) and have loved my learning curve going upwards with the wonderful educational experiences in patchwork and quilting I have received through TQS. I live outside of a regional area in NSW Australia and TQS and the BOMs bring so much into my life.

I have decided to jump on the wagon and do this BOM. My Ricky Tims stabilizer arrived yesterday. I do not have any fabrics for it yet but my local quilt shop is having a sale tomorrow so I am going to see what I can come up with (can't pass up a 25% off sale). I have never attempted anything like this one before but figure if I take is slowly it will be doable.

Yes I have decided that I am going to give this a go. My friend Anne and myself will be making this our 2012 project. I have downloaded this months instructions and templates and am now working on a colour scheme. Anne and myself live in Australia but we are both Pomms. I do not usually make traditional quilts so this is going to be one big challenge for me. I will need your support.....

Okay, here's what is going on in my quilting room. My 2011 BOM is still up on my design wall, all the way up to month 3. Unfinished! I love it and WILL get back to the hand applique that I am doing on the swag border. My HSTs from the BIG exchange are our of sight; out of mind. :shock: My batik HSTs are calling to me to be finished for the SOS book. I recently bought about 10 yards of fabric to work on a pattern that I hope to publish. (I'm thinking big here! ) I just completed 41 little strip squares for the Spool Exchange. AND, for the last few days, I just couldn't help myself; I have been playing with this year's BOM! And am having way too much fun! My background will be black, probably 8 yards of it. But, right now I am working on the log cabin style legs of the outer star. Every leg will be a different color in the color wheel. It is quite a challenge to get the correct gradation, times 9 different colors, from my stash! But I am getting there! I LOVE color, and will probably make 11 star points and then see which ones make the perfect color wheel. Since I had just spent my alotted fabric allowance for the time being, I will have to wait to buy the 8 yards of black. So, I am only working as far as I can on each template, until I come to the black. Hey, you do what you have to, to still have fun!

Hi, I'm Barbara from Australia and I haven't done a BOM before neither have I done paper peicing or applique. I did do the 1/2 square triangle exchange and thoroughly enjoyed it, I am now in the process of almost finishing putting the borders on and then on to the quilting. I love the Buttons and Blooms
and even though I have some UFO's I couldn't resist it, I opened up my emails today and am excited as I have been told that my kit is shipped I must say I can't wait for it to arrive I'm sooo looking forward to doing it. I am a huge fan of Sarah Vedeller.
