Many of you know this already, that I've had a tough year. Wanted to do something positive for me.

I made a wall hanging quilt with some of the HSTs from the exchange and will be bringing it with me to the Houston Quilt Show for everyone to sign. If you see me and haven't sign it, get my attention. I will have the quilt on me and plenty of pens. My boys, hubby, family, friends and other quilt buddies will also be signing it too. I'll be wearing a tie dye, like usual. Clara

All of your TQS quilting buddies who are lucky enough to be in Houston for the Festival will be ready to sign it! :D
Hope to bring you some of our positive energy.
Can't wait to see everyone!

We're still short a bit short staffed at the AAQI booth. Please consider signing up for a time slot or the text brigade! It's a fun spot to be!

http://aaqiupdate.wordpress.com/2012/10/11/houston-helpers-the-aaqi-text-brigade/

On this page, you can sign up for a definite time slot AND/OR to be a member of the Text Brigade. The Text Brigade is kinda fun. You can give us a broader range of time you might (or might not be) available and if Ami looks around and sees people climbing all over wanting to purchase quilts, she texts me and says HELP! I have a list of all the brigadiers and I look up those that might be available and text them to go save Ami and crew as soon as they can. If you are strolling through the quilts and can get back to that later, you text me back with an ETA. If you are in the middle of a class or just bought a queen size batt and need to go back to your hotel, you text me "sorry".

If you sign up for a time slot (and that makes life way easier for Ami), you have a definite commitment and can plan it into your day. But the Text Brigade is an option you might want to think about too - there are always times when the booth gets over-run with excited quilt buyers and we don't want any of them to leave because they couldn't see the quilts they wanted to see.

We have sent over 2,000 quilts to Houston this year and have twice the booth space we had last year. We will need your help more than ever!

Yes! Just the day before yesterday. Thank you! Now I just need to see if, once I've washed it, I can make it look similar. I don't have all of the expensive products that she used when styling it, and I am not patient with a blow dryer. Which I don't quite understand, since I have SO much patience with quilting! I think both are a form of art, but if I can't use a curling iron, forget it!

I am no good with styling my hair, but the gal who does my hair has been for over 20 years, and gives a great cut! I think that is the key! Looking forward to seeing you and your new do!

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, BTW great reminder tips on what to pack!

Great new picture Dawn!

I'm also hopeless ( and much too lazy ) to get my hair back to salon-style! My hairdresser knows this, so once every 9 weeks I have the perfectly set hairstyle, and for the time between: its shake the head, a dab of gel or hair wax and give the mess a certain organization... . Works well if I have a really good cut, if I have to get it cut by anyone other than my 'fabulous' hairdresser Vito, then I start going batty after two weeks because I need tools such as comb, hairbrushes, blowdryer, etc. When Vito cuts, I only start having problems if I wait more than nine weeks between cuts. :0)

Wow! We went from 30 dinner atendees to 60 in a short time! I guess everyone is getting excited about now! I sure am! I'm looking forward to Margarita's Show and Tell! Is it the finished quilt top that you showed us pieces of last year and the year before? Can't wait!
