Karen, I can't wait to meet all my internet friends! That is going to be one of the best parts of the show!

Wanda
How will we know where the TQS dinner will be? We will get to Houston about 4:30 on Thursday so will be short on time for exploring that evening.

A friend and I have had luck staying at one of the Courtyards (Brookhollow I think) and driving into town. Had no problem finding inexpensive parking within a block or two of the convention center. The parking area was to the left as you are facing the convention center and toward the end of that street that runs in front of the convention center. I was able to attend in 07 and 08. Missed last year unfortunately but have already made hotel reservations in March. We drive in from San Antonio on Friday after work and then spend all day Saturday and Sunday trying to see all of the quilts and visit all the booths. Not easy in only 2 days, but always well worth the effort.

Well if I could just recruit all you fellow quilters to be judges at the Houston quilt show, I'd have it made!! Thanks so much for your kind comments!

Janet, I saw Alpha'baa't Sampler at the MQS show in May, and absolutely love it!! Best of luck in Houston! I expect to see a ribbon on it there, too!!

Thanks, Gabber! Hopefully my quilts in Houston will be the ones with the ribbons on them!! LOL!! I'll see if I can post a link so you can see the one with the sheep. The other one I entered doesn't have sheep in it. It is called Alphabet Alchemy and it will be in the small abstract category. The one with the sheep, Alpha'baa't Sampler will be in the whimsical category. Can't wait til November!! http://www.ihqs.org/images/2010gallery/305_Full.html

This is my first time going to Houston. I lucked out and have a room at the Hilton across the street! Major score! My hubby decided he is not up to the trip, so I will be flying down with one or more of my quilting peeps! I have been studying the class schedule. I think I have narrowed down my classes. Count me in on the Thursday night supper, Wanda!

This will be my third year going, was not able to go last year. For first timers, it can be overwhelming; so much to see, so much to do. From experience, I make my hotel reservation no later than early February. I wait on the airline until I see the class catalog, which I received yesterday. The shuttle buses are wonderful and will be running again this year.

The meet and greet at 1pm each day is a lot of fun and great way to actually put a face to the name. Alex, Ricky, John, Justin are always there: posing with us, signing autographs and answering questions, just being themselves. It is a great time.

Looking forward to seeing many again this year, Wanda, please include me in the Thursday dinner, Pat
