I will be there from Tuesday through Sunday, too! I'll go to Pepper Cory's luncheon on Wednesday, Donita Reeves long-arm demo on Thursday, and the all day basket class on Saturday before Ricky's concert and the dinner/tribute for Alex. Saturday will be a loooooong day, but I can recover later!!!

Why don't we just say that anyone who can make it plan to meet at the TQS booth about 1:00 each afternoon for a meet and greet? (I'll be able to make it on Thursday and Friday for sure.)
Maybe someone can check on a good meeting place before Ricky's concert so we can try to sit together, and we can post a notice or leave a message at the TQS booth to let everyone know?

I'll be in Houston Tue-Sun. I'm in Suzanne Marshall's Needleturn Applique class on Wed morn. Ricky's SS on Thur and Fri and the concert on Sat. Then on to the Silver Star Salute. I will go to the awards announcement Tues night, the IQA meeting and the Bernina Fashion Show on Thurs. Lots to do and such a short time! Can hardly wait! The only bad thing is my friend that I was going to stay with may not be going after all. Oh well, I can sleep anywhere as long as I'm at Quilt Fest!
Happy Quilting,

Eeeek! I already sent my quilt via the post office. I've always sent mine via post office, and haven't lost one yet, so I hope it will get there safely this time. I sent it priority mail with delivery confirmation, and Sandra (the post office lady) thinks it will get there Friday, so I'll keep all my unused appendages crossed...

Pat,
Please use someone other that the Post office to send your quilt. A friend of mine here sent a quilt through them and they delivered it to the wrong place and got a signature and she still hasn't gotten the quilt back.
I will be there in Houston. We will get in on Tuesday, will go to the awards announcement on Tuesday night, the IQA meeting and fashion show on Thursday, Ricky's seminar on Thursday and Friday and the Silver Star dinner. I also have Suzanne Marshall's hand quilting class on Wednesday afternoon.

I finished packing up my quilt last night, and will be taking it to the post office this morning to mail to Houston. Very exciting. The number that they had me put on the address to let them know which quilt it is, is 16008. I don't know if that corresponds to the number that will be on it at the show or not. I'll be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and do hope to see some of you, will look for you at the TQS booth or Ricky's booth, and will no doubt be found quite often lurking near my quilt, LOL.

I think it is exciting that the 2009 BOM is going to be revealed at a big show like Houston and it's no big deal to me if Houston sees it before me. I'm busy on two other Sue Garman patterns so I know this one is going to be just as great. I do wish I could be there see it in person but it's like a Christmas present, waiting is half the fun.

Although I can't go, not a priority for me as I need to save for Paducah 2009!!! I do wish all going a lot of fun and fellowship. I also hope those of us that are not able to attend don't get left out of a very important event and here is why. . .

IMHO...I sure hope the sneak peek of the 2009 BOM at Houston coincides with a Daily Blog announcing it here, otherwise there are going to be A LOT of disgruntled members. If the sneak peek of the 2009 BOM is going to be used an advertisement tool to recruit new members, then so be it, but then those of us who pay the price for this all informative and fun site should not be left to wait longer than the Public non-members. Having the 2008 quilt there in person for the first time for potential new members to see before anyone else would have been a more appropriate avenue to go. I've spent a lot of yrs in a leadership roll where certain details and events had to be kept secret in respect to the entire paying membership. It's hard, but it sure makes for a happier membership for all as no one EVER has to be felt left out of an ALL SO IMPORTANT EVENT that they are paying for!!!

Who else will be going? I'm definately planning to attend Ricky's concert and the dinner/tribute to Alex, both on Saturday evening. Alex said that we could use the TQS vendor booth for a meet/greet place, so I hope to see some of you there!
