and Malvern Autumn quilt show is on next week with lots of traders. Only one and half hours drive for you, I'm going on friday here's the link Click for link and all these traders click link that'll keep you going for a bit

I had my eyes on that show ever since we moved here but it is the only week-end we could get both my daughters together here to tidy all their childhood stuff and toys which we have had stored for years but we now are falling over, having falling on us and desperately need to get reduced to a scale they have no idea (but they will find out  ) so sadly I can't go. It was on the cards for them to get together for over a year before we moved because we knew we wanted a much smaller house but there was always something that made it impossible. Now I have them nailed down to that week-end there is no way I am going to say I want to go to Malvern instead  BUT just think about it - next show I will have so much more space for my shopping :o (at least I hope so).

Good luck on the clearing out! my mum has been trying to off load my stuff onto me since I married (18 years & counting  ) & I don't think I've got everything yet! That includes my old soft toys - I've got the important 2 Furry Chap & Pink Panther 8) Still I did come away with a load of fabrics, and helped sort out leftover fabrics from church embroidery repairs, that she won't be needing any more, this summer.

Lorna and Pam,
thank you both very much. I will try the links; the second one I actually know from my time in Belgium but never thought to look at for shops here and I will mark the date in February in my diary to go and see what Doughtys bring with them to a venue like that. In the mean time I will try to find out if a quilting group use that community centre. That could very well be the case. I must do some digging.

Marianne, whilst I haven't visited Doughtys shop in Hereford they are the first stand I head for a quilt shows, as they have great quality fabrics and great prices. Check out their website http://www.doughtysonline.co.uk/ They also travel around the country bringing their 'roadshow' to local guilds/groups. They bring their fabrics to you. Their website shows that they will be in Cardiff on 2 February 2013 at Heath Community Centre, King George V Drive East, Cardiff CF14 4PP from 10.30-2.30pm. It should be well worth a visit.

Will be interested to hear how Duxford is. I've been to the Chilford one a couple of times but the lovely old barns burnt down.

Here are two links I have found helpful in looking for shops in the UK. I don't think it is all of them, but it is a start.

Wendy, Thanks for the link. I think Duxford is not too far from me. I'll have to put those two shows on my calendar.

I've never come across a dog who wouldn't :P I have never understood dog owners who said their dogs didn't like a treat. Mine have always been ready to open wide when it came to treats. Uhm - maybe it is right what is being said about dogs being like their owners or is that the other way around?

Stunning outfits, Rosemary. The number of hours you must have spent making them :!: Labour of love I am sure.
As for your dog and what he/she (?) might have thought: As long as you remember my biscuits and my scoop bags, you can dress however you like!

Thank you, Mellymoo. We have never been to Hereford, very amiss I know, so we have better make up for it! I will of course need to bring back a souvenir or 5 to make a "Hereford" quilt :D
