And if those pictures do turn up, we don't need to see him, we want to see you! :) :) :)

Seeing that the marriage did not last, Lotti, pictures are somewhere, but not accessible. If I come across them I'll share - promise!

But I'm not bitter. My disastrous choice in husband also provided me with the best sons I could wish for, two gorgeous granddaughters, and a lovely extended family. :)

Thank God, some of life's ugliest clouds have the most marvelous silver linnings!

Jilly, that would have been 'interesting' in my case. I got married in a very traditional German outfit (not necessarily a wedding dress, but for very special occasions). So my granddaughters would be baptized in black and gold brocade with cream silk, and gold lace. :)

That's a really nice idea. I'll mention it to my Niece.

I made a christening gown out of my wedding gown, it would then be the start of "our family heirloom christening gown", it was just sitting in the back of the cupboard so decided to give it a go, sat for a while not know how to cut it then took the plunge and cut it up the side seem and off I went, turned out lovely, our first daughter was in,
then along came Cyclone Tracy and off it went somewhere in the sky. Only have one photo and you cant see it much at all. But I love the concept and friends and family have since done the same thing. :D :D :D :D

THank you Rita, I have recruited my sister into this wedding dress project. She is so much more talented than me,

Cheryl you did such a great job on that quilt, congratulations, it has turned out beautifully. I am dying to see what you come up with from the wedding dress. :D

I just looked at photos from the wedding. It is a strapless dress with a lot of folds crisscrossing on the top half to below the hips. the rest is floor length with a small train. doesn't look like i would be able to make a whole cloth quilt. The bridesmaids dresses were black. I don't think there are any lace or pearls. Maybe I could do a medallion trapunto. We'll see.

Depending on the style of the dress, could you just use the skirt of it to make a wholecloth centre for the quilt with borders in the brides colours? Also you could applique the front bodice down as is (but i would recommend taking out any boning first, if it was boned  )

Love the quilt and sorry I "jinxed you".
I get "volunteered" for things. I am trying very hard to say NO when I need to. Just stand in front of the mirror and practice.
Mostly it pushes us to try new things, and as we can see you are up to the challenge.
