I have been a bit quiet on the forum lately because I have been really busy and in my spare time I have been busy making a wedding quilt for one of my nieces. I was given EQ7 for Christmas this year by my DH and on the 1st of January I began learning how to use it. It has taken me 6 weeks to design, piece and quilt this quilt but I am very pleased with it. The centre appliqué medallion and the corner blocks were from the EQ library as were most of the blocks. The birds inside the heart were taken from a quilting design in Pepper Cory's book Quilting From the Amish. My niece loves purple (and I am really hoping she doesn't hate yellow
). The quilting designs are mostly from my head.
I used Isacord white thread in the white areas, Superior Highlights in the purple areas and in the bobbins (all 24 of them) and Superior Rainbows thread in the border. Now I just have to put the binding on, make a label and its ready for her wedding in April. Then I have to start one for the next niece who is getting married in December.
This is just the top
When I have the binding done I will take a full size photo of the whole thing.
Time to start thinking about the 'inspired by Libby' quilt.
