As for quilting, I think I might try machine quilting with the stitches as long as the pieces are wide having every stitch begin in one ditch and end in the next. Choose a thread that would offer contrast. Just an idea, but it's the only thing I could think of. Onward!! Keep at it!

Ok, go get your magnifiers - a small taster...

This was the first start, I just got plain fabrics, thinking that patterns were rather redundant at this scale. Unfortunately the 'mid' purple was more of a dark purple, just a different shade and the jump between them and the light was too much.

This is the second start, and I am much happier with the colours, although the mid and light purple shades are darker than I would really wish.

The main problem with this I am finding, is having enough cut squares for a leaders and enders project to run alongside it

The bad news is that I don't have a clue of how to quilt it yet.

And the good news is that it will fit into the FoQ miniatures category of less than 30 centimetres square (approx. 12")

So provided it is finished in plenty of time I will probably be entering it. Just need to check the closing dates for entries.
