Hi I am kind of new to the forum so I don't know if I would qualify as a 'lounge lizard'....
Me, Me, Me, please! Connie I would love to swap with you. Anyone else want a mug rug from Ireland? I would probably have to make June the deadline though.
Lisa thanks for the link to all those gorgeous little mug rugs, they tipped me over the edge. I think I could probably manage six or eight.
Lisa I hope the surgery goes well. It can't be fun being restricted by your own body. How long do they say it will take to recover?
Hi Rita, I'm new too, so I'm thinking of myself as a "Lounge Larva" to borrow the term
I would love to swap with you, but I don't know for sure that I'll be up to rotary cutting and sitting at the sewing machine in June! I also think I'd have to limit myself to 6 or 8 as well. I have 4 willing "swappers" already!
Hmmm, Thanks for asking. Dr. Jeffrey Roh's staff say 6 to 12 months for recovery. It would be longer, but he does minimally invasive surgery, so you don't have to wait for muscles to reattach or a really long scar to heal. They do not start physical therapy until 30 days after the surgery, which would have me starting PT sometime in June. I hope to be healed enough to fly to NYC in September to meet my Italian friend and her Mom there, but would have to arrange wheelchair (that helps you get other assistance, not that I need a wheelchair per se, but I cannot lift or pull things) and ask people to wrangle my luggage for me. On the good side... doing this now means that I may be capable of hiking the 1,000 foot elevation trail to Rattlesnake Ridge in September of 2014, when my Italian friends are coming with their daughter, to stay with us! Follow the photos to the end, to see a bit of the views from way up top!
