Well, I for one have been a busy bee today... Not mug rigging and havn't touched my dads quilt, but...
8.30 am hairdresser... All morning. I love my hairdresser and make the most of these appointments... Well actually, color, wash, dry, streaks, wash, treatment, head massage, wash, cut, style... And he says he always looks forward to my visits because I think he's the professional and let him decide what will be done with my hair... So he gets to try out anything new he thinks would suit me. Then off to the office pick up Daniela, quick lunch and to our driving course (update on new regulations, info for safe and fuel saving driving styles with modern technology cars (did you know that we shoul almost double the distance between cars from what we learned way back when because the new assisted break systems make the braking so much more effective that the person in the next car has no chance to react in time if on
Y the distance according to the older regulations is observed?). Learned a lot, had a lot of fun and saw some gruesome pictures and surveillance camera videos), some of the worst were horrific u-turn maneuvers inside tunnels (a coach making a three point turn inside a tunnel using all the lanes - both directions - in a 100 km (that's full autoroute speed) zone. His passengers were 45 children and 5 adults, horrid horrid horrid) and more... There really are a large number of people on the roads that should be tied up!
Anyway, then to the flower shop to get a fab tulip bouquet for our visit to a fabulous lady I had met at our christmas jazz night.
Ruth started chatting with me because I was hand-quilting at the jazz concert. She told me that she used to quilt, but could no longer sew because of her health. She invited me to her house to have a look at her fabric stash and see if there was 'ANYTHING I WOULD LIKE'...
Well we had finally fixed a date for us to visit her for coffee and fabric this afternoon...
And this is the result:
Yup, 11 bins of fabrics. Some cottons, various upholstery fabrics, lots of silks, lots of decorator fabrics, mainly solids in all shades. Each bin contains a color...
She's invited us to come back in late spring when we can have tea and cakes in her garden, and bring home the other half that is still hiding in her attic!!!
Have Daniela and I won the lottery or what! Not all much use for cuddly quilts, but fab fab fab for art quilts, pillows, pictures, etc. etc.
Oh what fun well have. And what a fabulously fun new friend we've made!
And tomorrow? Well there' a quilt to be continued...
