All these mug rugs are stunnning - it is getting me worried whether I can keep up the standard  I have started starching some fabrics, but that is as far as I have got.

Things are advancing for my thimble class (Saturday week) and I now have an elegant box to store my thimbles in, which makes me happy. I just need to start filling it up and labelling the ones I have made so far.

Connie, those are beautiful mug rugs. Robyn and Lisa congratulations on receiving such lovely gifts. Both the Dresden plate and the sunflower are beautiful and I love the way you have set them. Beautiful work.

Lois that's a fabulous flower you have sent to Limbania. Love your quilting on the flower and the FM cross-hatching, so attractive.

Glad you like yours Susan. It is the lesser-spotted Irish humming-bird! (Oh no wait, that's me! The bird and the flowers were line drawings on an Ikea fabric which I cut out and coloured in with my Pitt pens. I fused them with Bondaweb (which I hate) and then stitched them with a monopoly smoke thread. I made the stitch length about 1.5 and the width about 2.0 on my Janome. The echo quilting was done with a Superior Rainbows thread. :D

Everyone’s mug rug is fantastic. :D :D At first I thought the "quilted " card was actually real - gasp! gasp! gash! what a perfect miniature then realised that it actually was a card, card

I just love seeing all the precious mug rug's as it shows what talent you all have. I am afraid I will be a little while yet as life (LLQS 2013, my Indigo exhibition, and my quilting group (guild) has their AGM soon and I am the secretary) has got in the way
. :( :( :(

Fantastic Lois!!! How did you get the flower both sides. It's gorgeous.

It's making me really happy seeing them posted on here so can't imagine what it's like getting one through the post. They are lovely. Well done girls and boys :D

Oh my gosh!!! Connie!!! You didn't wait for me to get back to sewing after my spine fusion surgery (which is May 13th, but who's counting :( ).

I found a GORGEOUS mug rug from you in my mailbox today!!! Wow, it is so pretty, I'll never be able to actually use it :-) How did you know that sunflowers are my favorite flower motif??? :D :D :D :D I'm going to put it near my bed, to look at while I'm dosed up on Oxycontin, I love the stitching inside each of the sunflower petals, and the fact that they are 3D, not sewn down around the outside! The seed FMQ in the brown center is so neat! And I adore green!!! Wow!

I've been so busy getting ready for the surgery (the house, the maintenance and repair stuff, the insurance stuff, the allergy testing for the spine hardware materials (since I'm allergic to at least one metal and one "plastic" I need the testing)... I have not looked at this forum, or TQS at all, since my last post! I can't believe there are 31 pages in this forum already!

I don't know the etiquette, are we posting photos of the mug rugs we receive? Because I want to trumpet this to the world, lol, I am doing my best imitation of "dancing around the kitchen" since I opened your package. Thanks so much! Please forgive me, that I won't be able to start yours until I'm cleared to sit at the sewing machine, hopefully around June/July.

I'm still waiting to see the "butt ugly" mug rugs. All I've seen so far are obviously the "face gorgeous" ones! Those are so pretty, Connie and Rita!

Rita, your hummingbird is magnificent! Do they have hummingbirds in Ireland, or did you have to import one? :D

Robyn, glad you like your mug rug, and I think your husband's coffee stain idea is great!

Sue, it sounds like you had a great day birding! We're headed to the beach tomorrow, but since my shorebird identification stinks, probably not much birding for me.

I'm pretty sure I used HeatNBond lite, with the Sue Nickels technique of cutting out the centers. I think I was hoarding my SoftFuse for the BOM

As far as thread goes, it's just plain ol' Coats and Clarks from the rainbow on my sewing room wall. Busted!

Well folks, spring migration has truly started. I dragged my aching back outside for a walk in the woods, found eagles, osprey, warblers and wood ducks, among others. A beautiful day. Then, when I got home, I discovered, to my joy, yet another species in the mailbox, a hummingbird all the way from Ireland!!!! This is a life-bird for me, with it's beautiful feathers and perfect stitches.

Thanks, Rita!
