I have just received this gorgeous mug rug from Norma. Beautiful hand dyed and painted fabric. Love it to bits. There was also a beautiful embroidered card and some scrummy rat-tail binding. Thank you Norma.

The wall hanging on the design wall was for my daughter. She loves dragonflies and I thought it would be a nice present for her birthday in July. After my Indigo exhibition she asked me for “The Hearts of the Matter” wall hanging for her birthday. It never even occurred to me she would like one of my Indigo pieces instead (which I wanted to keep myself, so am going to have to make myself another one). Now, instead of finishing it, it is on the design wall waiting to be finished, but I will do it sometime but no rush now.
The long piece is another WIP with my dyed fabric for flowers and the background my Indigo fabric.
I am going to a quilting retreat at New Lanark on Sunday to Wednesday and had thought to take them along but I have more urgent things to finish for the class I teach. A New York Beauty and a simplified Irish Chain. These are probably priority as a couple of the students have finished wall hangings and I haven’t sewn my together yet. Mind you last year I took my spools quilt to do and only got 10 blocks done in the 4 days. Too much eating, drinking and talking and not enough sewing.

Beautiful mug rugs everyone! I'm definitely missing my design wall which has been packed away for some time. It was just a flannel backed tablecloth. I'm hoping for something more permanent in my new home. My solution for now is to put the flannel backed tablecloth on the floor. After laying out the blocks if I don't have time to sew them together right away I just fold up the tablecloth with the blocks on them and they stay in place.
another brilliant idea!! Thanks for sharing that.
And Maureen, yes, the design on the wall is gorgeous! What a lovely work in progress!!

I had some of the lovely hot chocolate, from Lorchen, the other day. The best thing about it was only 40 calories! Very tasty. Next I will try the tea from Australia.

Wow, even more beautiful mug rugs to admire! This exchange really is so much fun!
I was lucky enough to find a beautiful mug rug from Lorchen in my mailbox when I got home tonight. It's pretty dark here now so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to take and post pictures. I think you'll all love it as much as I do!

Beautiful muggies from Nancy and Lorchen! (Was chilly last night so I had some of Lorchen's hot chocolate and thought of you, Lorchen... thank you again!). Thanks Charae for the nice comment and thank you Maureen for the photo of your design wall! (love the quilt on it too!).

And in today's mail was this gorgeous mug rug with a lovely nautical theme. Just so you know, Lorchen, DH said he'd surely keep this one for himself if I didn't get my cup on it first. Had to snatch it back quite quickly. Love the fabrics and stitching around the squares--thank you so much.
