You are really lucky, Jane. It's a beautiful Christmas rug. And on the back I even found text in Danish  . Good job, Lorchen.

It has been quiet here for some time. I have sent all mine. Lois, yours was in my last batch and I'm getting nervous that you haven't had it (or maybe you just don't like it), but please tell me if it reached you. If not I must make you another one.

You're right Norma, it has been very quiet here lately :(
I have one ready for the post and hope to get back to the sewing room this week to make some more. I'm thinking Christmas trees :D If I get them sent soon they should arrive before the big day. I was hoping to get to them today but I promised my son I would clean his room
I may be some time....................

Oh my, Christmas came early this year. The most beautiful muggie ever! And Santa (maybe that is Lorchen!) brought presents to hang and treats to drink too. Don't know how you could give up this wonderful Christmas, hand cross stitched mug rug but rest assured I'll treaure this piece for holidays to come! Thank you so much, Lorchen.

Terri, Just take it easy, you've had a tough go of it recently and it'll just take a while to get back to full strength. Good wishes and prayers coming to you.

Talked to Terrie a few minutes ago--she is very weak. She also said she is very blessed by those who have been praying for her. Let's keep holding her up in prayer.

Rita, the wool you gave to Geneva is wonderful. I never see any plaids or wool here that is as pretty as those. Guess I need to live where it is necessary to wear wool to be able to find the good stuff. Anyway, great job Geneva.

That's the thing about these mug rugs, we learn by our mistakes but at least they are small ones! When I was making the wool quilt for my son I found that a 1/2" seam allowance was better with wool and pressing the seams open made them less bulky. Anyway, I love it even more now that I know how much trouble you went to to get it just right. :D

Very clever, Geneva! And no one would have known either as it looks perfectly done. Good idea, though, when using wool for piecing as the seams would be very bulky I would think. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you liked the wool mug rug Rita. Thanks for giving me the wool. I still have quite a bit left over.

BTW, I'm not really as clever as you all think. You see, I tried to sew the squares together but the seam allowances were too bulky. So, smart as I am, I placed the wool squares on a piece of Ricky's stable stuff that I covered with wonder under. I pressed it all and started to couch the green wool string. But the white stable stuff showed through and It looked stupid! So I took the wool squares off the stable stuff (they didn't stick anyway!), placed them on some black fabric, sewed the couching down and viola! Finally successful!

In any case, I'm having fun with you all trading mug rugs. I learn all sorts of stuff!

Take care,

Geneva
