Rosemary~ Did you see the "Recycled into Apron" blog that Terry (quilting00) posted in Member Blogs? It is so clever and I'll bet it would cover Izzy's black school sweatshirts perfectly! Adding my wishes for a fabulous Christmas and New Year to all Lounge Lizards. It's been so fun being part of this group. I look forward to seeing what everyone will be creating next year!

Izzy was making cookies this evening to take into school tomorrow. She is getting pretty good at 'her' favourite recipe, she only needs mummy to chop up the bars of chocolate, portion out the mixture at the end to get 30 smaller cookies out of a recipe that makes 20 and to remind her to keep an eye on the time, so they don't burn. Fortunately she doesn't need to separate eggs, and she didn't manage to burn herself either. I just wish she would take her (black) school sweatshirt off before she starts cooking Perhaps I ought to get her a new apron that fits her - the last one she got is for about a 5 yr old

I spent yesterday making cookies for the holidays :shock: . I usually do this by myself. I have told you all before that I don't bake. It is kind of like a comedy of errors so having "help" to do this is not necessarily helpful . SO, I made my usual mess of flour all over me, the table and floor but I added to my talent by having a bowl of powered sugar drop on the dog . Egg separating--lots of practice for that--first one came open with the yoke broken . Then we have the "how many times can you burn yourself" talent--got all the way to three this year...remember I said DH helped. So, I think I am done with cookie making for this year. I have two weeks off from school and I may treat myself between Christmas and New Year .

Even at Christmastime and for some especially at Christmastime life can be difficult. Especially for them I wish a bit of peace and joy mixed in with whatever difficulties they might have.

Yesterday I got a lovely mug rug from Renata. She also sent a fat quarter in beautiful blue colors. I'm waiting for some natural light to take photos. We don't have much of that at the moment. Another grey and rainy day today.

Maureen, Susan and Charae--beautiful, clever, and creative mug rugs!! Not sure why I haven't (again!!) been getting notices about new posting but just now caught up with everyone. AND, it is so nice to see Terrie again--hope the atelier is not full of elfish mischief but good old fashioned creativity and healing.

Lois, that fabric is just plain fun. Yes, the way it is dyed (painted?) makes the blocks look translucent and glasslike, so dimensional. I was able to purchase a yard with the prize money, and had fun deciding where to cut a chunk out because it is different all over. The thread-work was practice using gold thread free-motion. The feather, I digitized with embroidery software after getting permission from a quilter online to use one of her quilts as a background to trace.
