A little birdie told me that I would have a gift in the mail tomorrow. Got a sneak preview in email and my mind is reeling! The framework of the design is finished, just need to spend more time on the more complicated part of the design. Have ordered the little bit of extra fabric that I need. But that's all I'll tell you! Shhhh!

Actually where I live in the west coast we don't get much snow compared to the east coast. Saying that, I knew snow was forecast and there was a covering when I got up this morning but the roads where clear and by lunchtime it was gone. There was a very strong wind and it was extremely cold with the wind chill. Two days into spring and I hope it gets better soon, mind you when the sun shines you can feel the warmth of it. What about you?

Sorry you are having an annoying time Wendy and Maureen. Some days are like that! Hope tomorrow is better. I made two little mug rugs today and hope to get them in the post tomorrow - providing the biblical floods have eased off. Wendy I know you have had a lot of snow, how about you Maureen? Is it very bad in Scotland?

I am making an Indigo quilt, which has twelve 9-patch blocks with a stitched resist piece in the centre of each block. I have them in four rows of three. When I started designing it I drew it out, coloured it and it looked fine. I would put inserts of colour both diagonally and vertically (but not through the patterned piece) to make it a kind of Scottish plaid.
I cut through the first row and inserted the coloured fabric and realised it was horrible and would not work with the Indigo. I have wasted 9 precious pieces of Indigo Now I am scrapping through my fabric trying to find more 6 1/2” squares.
I am just going to put a small navy border around them with a coloured corner stone in the middle. Should have thought of this first and saved myself some time, energy and frustration

I'm making a right pigs ear of a quilt but it should turn out right in the end with a bit of manipulation and frogging.
Its a silver birch quilt for a challenge with a friend.
I thought I'd do some confetti quilting for leaves. You know cut up fabric little, chuck it on quilt and cover with tulle and machine down and trim back. Trouble is that the tulle is too dark so I fused it and put it on with tweezers to keep it the right way up and ironed down. Looks good but of course flies off and so what with quilting them on and thread painting the trunk its distorted the border.
What made me quilt the small border first thinking it would keep it square. Oh well you learn don't you.
I'll quilt it to death, then redo the border
Anyone else annoying themselves?
