Oh Wendy... I wish I could! But I'll just have to suffer alone... Thanks for the encouragement y'all, though, I do need it!

I'm not feeling forlorn yet... but I'm sure I'll encounter a moment or two of desperation. Right now, I am just very happy and fearless... sure that won't last for long... Well, it's still day one!

Late yesterday afternoon, FedEx delivered Nancy's Chinese Whispers quilt to my house. All I'll say is it is gorgeous and my imagination is going wild with it! 8) :D So the clock started ticking at the crack of dawn this morning and I probably won't come up for air very much over the next 50-52 days or so. So intense! I received a photo of Nancy's quilt late last week and it did not do justice to the real thing, but it did allow me to start thinking about what her quilt might be "saying" to me. And believe me, it is "talking"! Shhhhhhh… I better get to work!

I remembered you talking about the Dylon. Glad that you have discovered the MX'ers. It's so much fun to use them.
I know Rosemary recommends the Egyptian cotton from Empress Mills in UK. They sell them in small and big pieces and by the meter as well. They are very wide and takes the color well. They have thread count 440 but I find that they are easy to stitch at least on the machine.

Marilyn you are right. You never know how a sheet will take the color. I recently threw pieces of an old sheet into my dye baths and I got very light colors from that. I know the fibers are cotton but they had been treated with some nano technology to make them smooth. It has been my favorite sheet for years because it felt like silk but it was worn out so I wanted to use the good parts of it for projects.

Rita, what a fun and awesome quilt. Love the bright happy colors and the quilting is fantastic. The back is just as great as the front. Lucky niece, do you think your sister/brother would want to adopt me?
