I rewatched the Edyta Sitar episode a few days ago and thought how fun it would be to make a spool quilt like that. So if anyone is up for it in a few months or later, I'd join in. I did notice that her quilts were mostly more muted fabrics. My triangles were wild and wonderful (loved them!) Would we want to consider some fabric guidelines? Just something to think about.
I'm also thinking, I sent in over 600 triangles in the SOTT exchange. That kind of volume was hard to manage (OK, impossible
). If our aim was to make a spool quilt, maybe should we have a set # of strips to exchange, or a maximum?
Anyway, I'm fervently glad I was part of the SOTT's and am so happy to see what people have done with them. I would do another exchange again because this was such a positive experience for me. And my gratitude goes out forever to Debbie and Clara and all their helpers.
I truly think that these exchanges brought us closer as a community.
