Well, I was all set to post a photo of my partial quilt. BUT, I wasn't really happy with the two fabrics I had picked out to go in the blocks, and finally decided to take apart the 13 blocks I already made :shock: . When I looked at the photo of Edyta's quilt in her triangle book, I realized that the colors in her quilt were much more muted. The HST's I have are shouting loud and having fun. So it's back to the drawing board. Only 4 more blocks to disassemble now! At least I listened to that little voice telling me, this isn't working !

snowladyns OFFLINE Posts: 217 Thank you received: 15	Basically just as they came from the bag, but I set them out and if there was two colours that I didn't like I would change him out. I was only careful with one section it wasn't as crucial with the other sections in the block because of the sashing in between.

I start my summer sewing teacher gig this week I hope to work on a block each day during my break time. Hopefully I will have something to post soon. Ginochka

Thanks, all! I've now been measuring them, noticing that some are too small even if I correct my pressing. I do really want to start out with blocks all the same size, so it looks like I'll be checking each one. Since I only need 508 HST's for my pattern and I have 600+, even after weeding out the duplicate blocks, I'll probably have enough. Some of the smaller ones might be re-stitched if I need to make up the number to 508. My mom is going to inherit the remainder including duplicates, so I might trim those down to the same size so she won't need to do that.

I still remember my quilt from 10 years ago where I was fudging every seam, because my cutting and piecing was so inaccurate. This HST quilt is so special to me, I want it to be well made. Okay, back to the sewing room! Only about 375 to go.

Scoopie OFFLINE Posts: 1149 Thank you received: 160	I decided to just square them all, and am trimming them all down to 2 3/8". And like Ginochka, I am using the diagonal line on the ruler. It will take me a bit longer, but I won't get as frustated sewing, and there won't be any "too small" ones. I can use them all. Then I know if something doesn't line up, it is MY sewing!
