Re: SoTTT's CHAPTER 3: THE SORTING AND BEYOND!! 30 Apr 2011 11:45 #63849

My deepest heartfelt thanks to all who participated in this swap and to all the fantastic people who accomplished the tremendous tasks of sorting and mailing. I received my HST's earlier this week and am totally delighted with every single one of them! I am truly amazed by the wide variety of fabrics. Out of my 364 HST's, there was only 1triangle of fabric that matches a fabric in my stash. This was my first exchange and I am so happy that I made the decision to join. I've been looking through my books and magazines for ideas. This may take a while!

Now I can add some names to my list of 37 unsigned papers. WOO-HOO! Way to go DixieH and Margo! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

1st of all THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO has participated. I received my blocks this week and was overjoyed by the variety and creative combinations. Now it is time for me to admit I was one of those people who did not write my name and address on her blocks....I did both Batiks and classic fabrics, so find the most awesome block without a name and mark it Sharon from KS! TEE HEE.......again special thanks to those wonderful people who sorted and stacked and mailed....bless you!!!!

Good morning all, I have just surfaced after sitting up late last night watching the wedding coverage. Just lovely.
I too am looking forward to receiving my packages, doesn't matter one little bit if I am over or under or if I receive duplicates, triplicates - no matter as I am making quilts for those affected by the floods and cyclones here in Queensland. I have just read the papers about the terrible hurricanes in your country and the number of deaths and people losing everything. I am just thankful for what we have got and pray that we don't get hit ourselves next season.
If the post office is correct, we should be receiving ours in Oz this coming week. I will keep you posted, ENJOY.

Doreen. I pray that you get your special package on Monday! I would be crying by now. I just got mine this week and I was running to the mail box every day so I know how it must feel by now. Monday morning I will be praying that everyone who hasn't received their fab presents will have an exciting day. Believe me it is worth the wait no matter when you get them.

Happy to be a Sister :D :D :D :D

Joan and Roine, Thank you for your encouragement. :) I've decided to keep busy by finishing quilts for our Quilds' quilt show in September. I'll also dream about the quilt I'll make with my HST's. Dreaming is fun. :D Doreen

Doreen I know how you feel. I spend a lot of time at my LQS and last Jan I talked about the exchange so much that I was told I could not use the word triangles any more until I actually received them. The owner loved seeing me so excited, and I can't wait to show them all my treasures. Maybe next week. Joan

 Hope your HST package comes Monday, Doreen! Fingers crossed! I'm trying to put myself in our international sisters' shoes who are reading all about how happy we American SoTTT sisters are when we receive our beautiful HST babies and am getting the picture here. Hang in there, SoTTT sisters, it will be worth the wait and Kari has stepped up to the plate to be a clearing house for you and everyone else who wants to trade. Many of us will also pitch in too.

So, using some logic, unless everyone sent in the same amounts, there's no way for all participants to receive one HST from every other participant. I'm sure our marvelous organizers have a list going somewhere, to give to the next person who attempts such a thing, but I'm guessing one item would be to have everyone agree to make the same amount. Maybe that's too open-ended for some, but if that's the case set a limit on participants.

I see that they took on a HUGE challenge, and I think we absolutely can still call it a success. I ended up with more variety than I ever would have come up with on my own (and I really collect scraps!) so I'm happy.
That was well said....I would never have come up with all the variety that I have received. Duplicates are ok with me. I am just soo happy to have this many HTS and I can use them in one project or several...Thanks ladies. I think you did a wonderful job. I was great for a first try at this. In anything we do we learn from it how to do better. That is life.

My exact sentiments! I didn't care to count the HST's I got in my precious package! Just happy    to have them from all of you out there :!:  BUT...I did want one from Ron of Chicago and our Texan guy quilter    which I am getting soon.
