I came home late last night and did not check my Mail box. I just remembered and went to check, I am so excited, my package had arrived. I love all of the triangles.
Thank you everyone. I am going to put them on my design wall and enjoy them for a couple of weeks before I put them in a quilt. I will send a picture when I get
them on the wall. Thanks for everyones hard work.

Hip-Hip-Horray!! my package arrived yesterday afternoon. It was so much fun going through them and seeing where they all came from. This will be an international quilt. Now to decide how to put them all together. Debbie and Clara--I found your blocks mixed in with the rest of the 600++ so have placed them in the Golden ticket envelope with the other "specials". They too will have a place of honor. Thank you both sooooo much for taking on this BIG job. There is a special place in Quilt Heaven for you both. Can't do anything with them for awhile--since we are getting ready to pack up and move back North--boo-hoo--our time in Florida is finished until next winter. Oh well--it just gives us something to look forward to once again.

So yesterday when I went out the get the mail - I saw a package and I was thinking, what did Kelloggs send my husband. Imagine my surprise when I was it was addressed to me and I recognized the label. :D I have to say it was very fun opening up and seeing all those HST's I took a pic on my phone and sent to my sister (who is a quilter too) and she calls and asks what the heck was that and I told her (she knew about the exchange). As I was looking at them and where they all came from, I found a couple of my own, which made me laugh and I also found one with my sisters name on one from here in NM which we live. We had a good laugh over that. Now I am looking at several patterns to decide what to do -they are all so beautiful! My thanks to all those that made this possible, I had lots of fun making my HST's to send. You know what was really cool - I also received several HST's from a couple of people in my own hometown, that was too cool!

:D Rosemary, I couldn't agree more about the "listening to what my fabrics say to do" part :!: That's where the brainstorming comes in. You can have a great design for quilts, wearable art, custom clothing not look good if you don't consider the type of fabric, color, pattern/texture, etc. of the materials you're using and how they all fit together as a whole. 8) Then you can have additional fun adding embellishments of stitchery, beads, trims, etc. Your good point is well taken :!:

Theresa, just send me your address and I'll be more than happy to send some HST's to you. I can't have a sister of the SoTTT living so close and not getting a few HST's from Gresham, OR!
Talking to your fabric is a perfectly normal thing to do 8) , but even more important is to listen to what it has to say, as well to find out if it agrees with your ideas of what to do with it. I especially talk to my fabric and patterns when I am dressmaking/tailoring, in particular to alterations - will they do what I need them to?

Besides you get a better class of conversation that way

Good morning, everyone. It was pouring down rain, cold and windy here yesterday until I checked the mail - my HSTs had arrived and my day brightened immediately!! I hope no bills came in the same post since I have no idea what happened to the rest of the mail :-) I spent the afternoon fondling each and every jewel and marvelling over the miles they have traveled. Thank you to everyone who participated and most especially to the wonderful sisters and brothers organizing and sorting this massive endeavor. I already have a block in mind and love the fact that this quilt will be scrappy AND international. Looking forward to starting work on it soon. I can't say it enough - thank you, thank you, thank you.

Hugs to everyone from SUNNY Washington, DC.

Good morning SOTTT's or maybe we should phrase it GOOD DAY!

I dreamed all night about HST plans and still don't know what I am going to do with my HST Babies but am planning, it makes me want to retire now, but with only 39 days to go I need to stick it out!

Lena, First is was my pleasure to make a little surprise for you sorters. It was such a small thing to do. Also, I did go back through the Forum information and found where Margo gave us instructions and the link and this will be my first test to see if the signature works. Wish me luck.

Nancy: First off --- thank you sooo much for the tissue holders! It was a great surprise for all the sorters!
Second --- If you print off Margo's directions and follow them - step by step - don't skip anything --- you won't have any problems with the signature!

Hope to see you in November!

Well my triangles didn't come, but my face is sore from smiling at all the e-mails when one of you received yours!!! This is so much fun. I'm looking forward to receiving my package, but can't imagine that it will be any more fun that our SoTTTs Sisters sharing their excitement. Thanks for everyone who is sharing and more thanks, as always, to Debbie, Clara and every other person who helped sort, or feed or haul or all the other things that went into this project. Y'all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Nancy

I've got to give a signature a shot sometime soon. Watching posts on how much trouble it was has me a little afraid to try it. But I love to see all of you ladies who have one.

Debbie, although you haven't mentioned it, did you you have a designated (self nominated) 'tea/coffee' lady for the sort day, who took responsibility for making sure that there was drinks etc available, if there was could you pass on a big hug and thank you to her for doing such a vital job, even though she might not have been sorting.

Also to be thanked are all the DH's who helped in their own ways and for generously accepting that you have other things on your minds besides them  and their feeding requirements

My wonderful hubby came in the sewing room today (Sat.) and asked me why I was getting a envelope with my name in the to and from spaces!! I knew immediately that my little sweet babies had arrived!!! I was so excited that he said,"I didn't think you'd get this excited over fabric." No clue!!!!!!!!! I worked on these beauties all day and now have to think about how to use them and how to preserve all the names and places they have traveled. What wonderful colors! I love bright colors and got some great HST's that fit perfectly with my taste! I am very happy to get all different colors so that I will learn how to use them even if they aren't my favorites. What I am going to enjoy most? Working out of my comfort zone!! It has been said many , many times. but thank you so very much for all your work and for giving me a chance to "spread my wings".
