Hi! I am Jeanine Gunn born and raised in Brazil; a true 3rd culture kid with mother being French-Canadian and father Swedish!! I have been sewing since I was a teenager and quilting for about 20 years. I also knit and have embroidered in the past. I collect tribal textiles and have some significant pieces from India and Vietnam in my studio.
We are living in beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada, after moving around the world for work. I have 3 daughters, one of whom quilts and has an interest in sewing!!!
I check in on website once a day.....

Hi, I'm Annis, married 39 years, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 2 daughters-in-law, 1 son-in-law, 10 grandchildren (6 boys, 4 girls). I grew up on a produce farm in Homedale, ID which is near Boise on the Oregon border and walking distance from the Snake River. But I've lived twice as long in Arlington, TX so am officially a Texan. I was slow signing onto this site, but knew about it from the beginning, so am not a Charter Member. I've been sewing since I was a child and quilting off and on since the mid '70s. I've been quilting almost nonstop for the past 10 years and have written several rag quilt books, self-published patterns, and a seam guide that I developed is now available through C & T Publishing. I started spending more time on this site 2 years ago after treatment for breast cancer. I try to find time for fun each day in addition to all of the work responsibilites I have. But my fun usually is related to quilting. The BOM's I am doing are for fun and they have challenged me to make more interesting quilts. Even the puzzles I've been putting together lately have quilts on them! So I guess I'm addicted too.

I am Arlene (ritzy) born and raise in Chicago but have lived in Indiana longer than I did in Chicago so I guess I am a hoosier. I have two daughers, two sons-in-law, and six grands--two of which beat me to heaven. I have been quilting for 15 years and I, too, spend too much time on the TQS site.

This is a community of folks who have helped me through some very difficult times in the last two years and for that I will be eternally grateful. It is amazing how close you can become to a bunch of people you have never met. I have been fortunate enough to meet some of the members in person--I met Margo and Dana at a Ricky Tims Super Seminar.

I guess my personality is one of being a leader. I like to have fun. TQS fills the bill for fun.

Who's next?

This is a good way to get to know the newbies and let them know who we are. I'm Margo, originally from Norfolk, VA but now call Cleveland, Tennessee home. I've been addicted to this site since it first hit the Internet, and I am here more often than I care to admit!

My husband and I have been married over 43 years and have 2 grown sons, one DIL and two grandchildren. TQS and quilting keep me sane! For those who don't know me, I have been honored to help Sue Garman test the BOM patterns before they are presented to the membership, and I hope I can get answers for any questions you might have with the patterns. I'm also sort of the forum "housemother" for lack of a better term.
If you are new to the TQS forum, you might want to check out the tips posted here: forum/forum-questions-and-suggestions/4275-tips-for-using-the-tqs-forum

I sincerely hope all the newbies will explore the entire web site. There are tons of information and inspiration available to everyone, and if you want to know even more about our membership be sure to check out the Member Blogs link (under "FORUM" on the purple bar) and join in the community there as well as on the forum. That's where we really learn about each other! :D

WELCOME!

I have a suggestion. Since we are all now hooked on this site lets all introduce ourselves. It should be a fun way to get to know our group and we will have something fun to read each day. I am Paula Zumaris from Port Byron, Il. We are part of The Quad City area along the mississippi. I am a retired dental hygienist, so I have lots of time to quilt. My quilting friend, Pat encouraged me to join this site and make the TQS Stars For A New Day quilt. I have never been interested in a block exchange, but this one really caught my interest. We are very fortunate to have a Ricky Tims Super Seminar coming to the QCA and being sponsored by our guild this July. Of course I signed up for the committee. Any of you anywhere near The Quad Cities should seriously think of joining us at the seminar. OK who is next??

Thank you Michelle for for reminding us that Ricky's triangle was loose in the package.
I, too, had to rescue mine from the recyling bin. I'd have been very disappointed
had I lost Ricky's donation. :|
