I've made lots of scrappy quilts using all kinds of fabrics. When you aren't sure if your fabrics have been washed or not, it's always a good idea to wash the finished quilt with Synthrapol and a couple of dye catcher sheets.

I want to join in but my question is - is everyone washing their fabric first? I find that batiks do bleed. I always wash mine in Retayne so there are no surprises after the quilt is made.

We had a discussion in the beginning on this, and I got the feeling that most people were aware that batiks can still bleed off excess dye, even though they've gone through many manufacturers washes. So, I'm guessing most are washing. I did!

I can't speak for the others but I do wash all my fabric before using it. Also when I wash a quilt I throw in a dye catcher sheet in with it just in case.

So glad to be part of this batik HST exchange, and greatful for all the work Ritzy will have in sorting. Wish I lived a little closer and could help in the sorting effort. Thanks Ritzy!

I would like to join the 1/2 square batik exchange. I found several creme batiks at my LQS where they're having a 20% off Super Bowl sale today.

I am looking forward to this exchange. Is anyone else still waiting on their triangle papers?

This statement was at the top of the online shopping area from Laundry Basket Quilts when I ordered last weekend -

"Thank you for shopping with us and please accept our apology for a slight delay in shipping your purchased items from Jan 28 - Feb 5."

I think with all the orders they got after the show aired on TQS they may be waiting for more stock to arrive to fill more orders.
