TOPIC: Hello!

too many topics 31 Jan 2007 11:00 #264

i think the topic selection is overwhelming. u could condense the thread section and if u notice in the future there is a need, a separate topic could be set up.

Hello Everyone,
I am thrilled that this website is finally starting up. I love quilter's forums and have no doubt this one will be wonderful. Thank you Alex and Ricky for teaming up and developing "The Quilt Show" website. I also want to attend Alex, Ricky and Libby's seminar; this is a must in my future. It will be great to share our quilt experiences, problems, and joyson this forum.

Threadpainting - I, just looked atyour profile and quilts! Of course they're amazing - I saw several at Road to California. I thoroughly enjoyed your lecture and seeing your pieces up close. Your book is inspirational. I hope to use some of your techniques to bring to life a photograph of my house in an incredibly rare recent snowfall in West Los Angeles. Thanks so much!

Not to hijack the thread, but I just have to say...threadpainting, your work is amazing! I was just in the Quilt Gallery...I'm soooo impressed! I'm a central Floridian, too...from the Space Coast.
So much to learn from everyone here. I feel inadequate as I'm a newbie, and so unoriginal to this date! :( I'm great at following a pattern, though!

Hello everyone, Im glad to see the forum up and running even in the test mode. I agree with you roseswalls that its nice to look at the profile and get to know some new friends that talk the same languege as me, (quilting). I get frustrated when I get the blank deer look :| from family members when I m quilting or shopping for fabric. Is this going to take alllllllll day (yup). Im sure that we all will become good friends. :D

I really like that at least here on the forum, we can look down at the bottom of each post and click on 'profile' to find out a little bit about each other. I am really hoping that someday soon that when we view quilts in the gallery that the quiltmaker's name will be a direct link to their profile

What I noticed first when scrolling through the different forums is the great range of topics offered. I know it seems like a lot at first, but I think that will make it better as time goes on and we get used to it. The Forums will be great, I have not doubt.....just another wonderful part of this site. Congratulations! Dana

I'm glad you pointed out the 1969--I needed a chuckle this evening. Imagine begore long the forums will hop as they do at some others I visit.

All I can say is WOW!! 30 Jan 2007 17:27 #123

Yup new things can sometimes be confusing, but I'm sure as we all get to know the lay of the land (as mentioned earlier) this will become one of the most popular Quilting forums in the world. The ability to go to areas that are of special concern and interest to you and not having to wade through unnecessary posts to find the info you desire is going to be real valueable(sp). I don't think they've missed any topics. You can tell that a lot of work and THOUGHT went into the development of this forum. Three hands for the Quilt Show Team!!! CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!!!
See you all around,
Cheryl

This is confusing to know where to post. I guess we'll figure it out. The lay of the land will make a natural path.
