Amo, The quilt museum in York is definitely worth a visit. However do check out their website to see what their current exhibition is as it changes. The museum is just that main hall you see in the video and another very small room. Most of the quilts are in storage. I believe that if you want to see a particular quilt it may be possible to arrange in advance for it to be taken out of storage for you to see. You can always contact them and find out. http://www.quiltmuseum.org.uk Pam

Rosemary, I totally understand. I've bought capri pants that were the perfect length of long pants on me. No hemming! Yeah!

I love it! thanks for the lead. some nights after work, I just like to settle down and watch a quilting show. TQS has new ones only every couple of weeks. I can watch these any time I want.

I will definitely be visiting that site now!

Glad you had a good day Amo, sorry to have missed you, but I probably walked past you several times :) . I had a great day, managed to stick to my resolution only to spend the cash in my purse (but I did manage to spend all of it no problem  ). I met up with loads of friends, I think half of our local patchwork group was there. It was a great day and the weather stayed dry, even if the hills were shrouded in cloud. What fun, I'm shattered now, and am off to bed, no staying power obviously (though in my defence it was our quilt group this evening, so it's been a long day)

Well I went, I saw and I made lots of people a little richer today. :? However my stash is now enlarged and I have a few bits and bobs I didn't know I needed. I seriously had to pull myself back and decide to take stock of what I had bought when I realised I was starting to buy the same stuff again!! It's now all in neat piles upstairs waiting to poke me with inspiration.

I missed meeting Ali, like ships in the night I think!! The dogs had a good romp over the Malvern hills and OH nearly found out the easy way of getting down a steep hill several times.

I have discovered I can get to the NEC by train from Salisbury quite easily so the Festival may be an option in the Autumn!!! 8)

I could not believe how things have changed in such a short time. I haven't seriously quilted or sewn in 11 years and then I had to go between a dress fabric shop and the craft shop to buy what was available. Now I don't think there is a limit!!!!!!

A good day for my first ever modern day quilting adventure!

Wow Amo, well done on the weight loss. I've been trying to shift some pounds since the new year, I've got rid of 12 of the blighters, but getting to the first milestone (1 stone!) is proving elusive :? . I'm just going to have to spend a bit less time in front of the computer  . What's the secret of your success? Eat less and exercise more seems to be the only way to do it :( :(

A heart attack sounds scary Lynn, was it out of the blue? Are you fully recovered now? Sorry we're going to miss you at Malvern, but good luck with the interview. The forecast for Thursday is rain, I'm hoping it won't be bad all day, it's lovely sitting outside having lunch. At least it's been dry recently, so it should be firm underfoot.

Don't get me started on altering clothes!! I've just lost 3.5 stone in weight and, having cleared out my wardrobe to only leave stuff that fits, I still have sizes from 10 to 16. How illogical is that. And I'm becoming pretty good at altering a few favorite pieces. :D

It was Quilters TV that led me on to finding TQS in the first place. Some good stuff but the download can be a bit slow. And I've watched Quilt in a day but I find I can't put up with Eleanor Burns for too long. :? But seeing as our UK contribution is about zilch, I'm glad there are some things out there! :D

Thanks for the kind words Rosemary! I wouldn't mind the extra pounds if they were on the top (so to speak! :? ) but it sits right around the middle :) Have taken a break from lesson planning for the night, spent 5 hours and still not finished!!!! and have to take brousers up tomorrow night! as only ones in my size were long, and I am a shorty!!!!
Glad you like the link, also, try quiltinaday.com eleanor Burns site, she has videos on that and some cool tips.

Lyn thanks for the link to quilterstv, I really enjoyed it. Good luck at your interview, as for clothes you could always cut the size labels out :) they are only a 'rough' guide to go by and different shops can have totally different sizes of garments all labeled the same size  believe me clothes are cut for 'average' shape women, and as an alterations tailoress I haven't met an 'average' shape women yet

Good idea Margarita to put the fabric like that. I did Google and got a little but alot of other stuff. Another TQS member gave me a good lead too. Tonite or tomorrow hoping to figure out what I want to order and how much and get that coming ASAP.
