susannieu, welcome to TQS. Make yourself at home and feel free to post as you become more comfortable with us.
Just wanted to say that I met a very nice lady at church who is from South Africa. If she's an indication of the rest of the population, it's a very nice place to be!
Brink, Just take comfort that you have your family not too far away. You have your sewing machine with you and that is a good thing. And it is A NEW DAY.
Is your machine a Janome 6600? That is what I have.

I have just joined this group, a South African, at last. Its great to have friends in other countries and I also learn lots from them. friends all over the world with one thing in common""""We all love quilting and all that goes with it" that includes caring, the list will go on forever.
take care and keep stitching.
I love being able to tell people that I have friends in other countries. I'm just happy to be here and to know you all are here too.

It's so much fun to "talk" to all of you here on TQS. And, Brink, it's been especially fun to talk to you and others from other countries. I feel like I know you all. I'm always so glad to check the Forum and see everyone's posts.
