TOPIC: sign up for 2009

10 Nov 2008 20:58 #28233

I was at a LQS today. I told her about this site and what it meant to me. She was happy to hear because I was the first person she had talked to about this site. She did say, "Isn't it a bit pricey?" I told her that I think of it like a magazine subscription. However, I get so much more out of this site than I do any of my magazines. I can always justify spending money when it come to quilting.

I agree with you all. I don't know what I'd do without TQS!

I agree with you Margo. This is a great site. Sometimes I even think I spend too much time on it, but I have learned tons of stuff and made lots of great friends. At this time, they are friends across the internet, but at some point, I hope to actually meet some of you all. Cheers. Betty Jo

I don't know about the rest of you, but for my money, TQS is about the biggest bang for my buck that I've ever gotten! I enjoy the shows that Ricky and Alex and the team work so hard to put together for us, but that is just a small piece of what I get from the site. This is my guild, my community, and my sanity on some days! Simply Quilts was good, but this is 100 times better and 100 times more! Kind of like fat crayons compared to computer-aided design software!

Even with fluctuating exchange rates this show is the best value for money that I have ever come across. I am just about to do a piece for our regional guild newsletter so hopefully will be able to encourage more members. Maggi

I agree, Maggie. I'm letting my magazine subscriptions lapse because the ideas and techniques here are much fresher and more up-to-date.

Praising TQS here is like preaching to the choir  ! But I do so enjoy it. I like the freedom of choosing when to watch a show, and being able to watch it any time and any where. I have learned more about different quilting techniques from this site than I have magazines.

I'm planning to sign up again, too--I really enjoy TQS. I was wondering when they would announce that we could purchase season 4--I figured they would let us know, possibly by email.

Well I just bought my membership for next season yesterday at Houston. Don't know when it will show up on line.

I was e-mailing back and forth with John and it sounded like they were making some upgrades to the next season sign-up on-line process. It sounded like they would start the Season 4 sign up after the Festival. That doesn't tell you much, but I sure got the sense that it is on ARJJ's list of thing To Do after the Festival. And I second what Ann said - considering the cost of what goes into producing the show, the membership fee is a worthwhile membership fee for me (this is my quilt guild). Mary Kay

Nicely said Ann. I know I would be very, very sad not to have this site.

sign up for 2009 31 Oct 2008 10:38 #27740

Nothing has been posted about season 4 or 5 but last year we could sign up for 2 and 3 at Houston. I asked Ricky about signing up for season 4 when I was at retreat and he thought at that time they would be able to have people sign up at Houston so I expect that we will hear about signing up very soon. Get all the people you know to sign up. Producing the shows is incredibly expensive and they need all the paid members (and sponsors) that they can get. I know how hard everyone at ARJJ has worked to make this venture profitable but as all new ventures it is still a work in progress. The members need to support it with our dollars (so all you basic members - please become star members this year if possible). I pay more for a couple of magazines a year than I do for TQS and I get a whole lot less from the magazines. THIS IS NOT A PAID COMMERCIAL JUST A TESTIMONY FROM A VERY LOYAL FAN, Ann
