Check out the Horizon yahoo group. There were some initial problems, but from what I've read, Janome had repaired and replaced machines, sent a new 1/4" foot free to owners, and made improvements. The 6600 is well-known as a reliable workhorse, but it doesn't have a free arm. The Baby Lock Serenade and Quest Plus and Pfaff Smarter C1100 Pro are similar to the 6600. I have a Quest Plus, and it's been easy, trouble-free, and fabulous to use. The Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0 has had many very negative reviews, I wouldn't buy one unless I could get a written guarantee for a total refund if I wasn't satisfied. Don't rule out the Bernina 440 on harp-size alone. It's a fabulous workhorse machine, powerful and precise. I have one and I never took the classes for it, but it's easy to figure out. It has the BSR, if that would be useful to you. Just another set of opinions
