TOPIC: Pattern clarification

Pattern clarification 13 Jan 2021 08:31 #153503

Claire, I understand your point. Hopefully, no more changes.

The update here was a correction to the Kit fabrics, correcting Duckling to 1/4 yard.

If any more changes are needed, I will ask the date be put on the document itself. I do not anticipate any changes going forward.

Hi Barbara,
I’m referring to word “update” next to the name of files ( see attached screen capture).
It would help if there was date in the document header or perhaps as part if the name of file, it would help identify version downloaded ( do I have the latest one put out there).
Thanks

Would it be possible for the Editors to add an effective date in each download document(patterns), as there seems to be a new updated file in the download section, and it would make that easier to know if we already  have the latest version..... please :) :silly:

What new updated file?

Barbara, Maybe she means in situations like when you put up the fast way to cut roof pieces j and k. If you put a date at the top or bottom of a revision page (revised 1/12/21) then people would know that was the one posted as a correction, not the original posted for example on Jan 6,2021. That is my interpretation of what she is requesting. HelenW

I still am confused. In cutting the 6" rectangle into 2parts - face down, is the diag.red small hash lines the cutting line to cut in half or is the solid blue line the cut.

I know this is a dumb question but here goes. When cutting the fabric with your pattern, what is the cutting line for the 5.5x6" piece? Normally I would cut on a solid line, but I see the dotted line also. Is the dotted line the cut?

The red lines are the 6” rectangle, the blue lines are the 7” rectangle. The diagonal lines are the cutting lines.

I have found I’m having a problem getting the background to go on correctly. I am now cutting one piece face up and the next face down. That gives me the correct angles for the roof line. Almost finished with House 1. On to house 2!

While there are 3 different size rectangles to accommodate pieces j and k on Small Houses 1 and 2, the easiest solution would be to cut all rectangles 5.5" x 7.5". A little extra excess on the smaller pieces, j, but easier to keep track of. As you said, cut some face up, some face down and you are sure to have the shapes you need.

Thank you. Beyond the sewing line makes it clear we are to trim to a 1/4" seam allowance.
