Join us on a TQS exclusive 12-month creative journey with Becky Goldsmith as we bring you "Sizzle," a stunning quilt designed especially for TQS.
Each month we will provide photos, detailed directions for a portion of the quilt, and full-size patterns. Becky has also created a selection of "how-to" videos to guide you along the way.
Let's use this Topic "Sizzle Show and Tell" as a place to show off your beautiful Sizzle Blocks. That way, you know where to come to see what everyone is doing.
The topics that apply to each month are a good place to ask questions or make suggestions for each block.
AND when you post your photos to Social Media, like Instagram, Facebook, etc., use either of these hash tags so everyone there will be able to find our wonderful work:
Yea!! My top is complete.
I am not a fan of paper foundation piecing, but figured I could do 9 blocks. I re-made one, not because the piecing was bad, but when I had all the blocks complete there was one that didn't fit with the rest.
My borders are machine appliqued.
Now comes the fun part - quilting!!
I also have Halo Medallion to quilt. Two very different styles.
It’s finally put together. I really enjoyed the foundation paper piecing. I like the look of the appliqué border but I did not enjoy doing it. Blanket stitching around the piecing was extremely tedious
Hi Helen. our chapels have a cultural hall that has a marked basket ball court - actually our is only a half one. It's easy for me to lay the quilt out on the floor and then stand on the stage and photograph from above. I have the perfect circles by Karen Kay Buckley . They are super for making lots of different size circles and i can well recommend buying a set. Philippa Naylor recommended them to me some years ago and even though they are pricey here in the UK, I have used them often,

Brenda,
Love the way your quilt top turned out. I will have to remember the trick to use a circle to cover seam connections that are not perfect.
Is the quilt laying on a gym floor? Look likes lines for a volleyball or basketball court lines in the read and white. Just curious.
