Join us on a TQS exclusive 12-month journey into the land of childhood memory with a charming quilt designed especially for TQS by internationally-known Australian designer Lynette Anderson. Lynette combines simple, unpretentious folk art style appliqué motifs with patchwork blocks for a quilt that will be lots of fun to make. Each month we will provide photos, detailed directions for a portion of the quilt, and full-size patterns. We will once again be offering monthly companion teaching videos as well. It all makes for a year of fun and learning!

Love it!

January and February done, woo-hoo!

I am making this as a surprise for a good friend who lives in a 1900 renovated schoolhouse out in the country. I am using my fabrics, close to Lynette's color way, but brighter I hope.

So far I have been using Ricky's Stable Stuff with glue for the applique, but just pressed the windows and door without any Stable Stuff - and then am hand-appliqueing everything. One of the things I want to learn during this BOM is needle-turn so am going to give that a shot with March maybe.

Is anyone else using the Perfect Stems? Oh my goodness, I LOVE this tool - no folded raw edges, so easy to manipulate and stitch.

For those of you who have been working on it, do you think it would look okay with raw edge machine applique or would invisible machine applique be better? Thanks for your help.

Reetzbobeetz OFFLINE Posts: 4193 Thank you received: 209	I think next month's instructions will be a lot easier because there are just a few hexagon flowers and a vine to do so you will have lots of time to get both finished before April. Don't get disheartened, just slowly plug away at it and before you know it it will be done and beautiful.
