And it says so in step 3...

It's the centre square that the 'e' sits on. The instructions say to cut a 3" square but you need to trim it down to 2 1/2" before assembling the block.

Really having problems with letter e. Is there a way to let us know that a mistake has been made in the
Cutting directions so we all know about it? After reading the notes I'm still not sure what measurement is wrong.

Per Janet's instructions:

STEP 1 - For the small flying geese units, Trim the flying geese units to measure 1 ½” x 2 ½”.
For the large flying geese units: Trim these units to measure 2 ½” x 4 ½”.

STEP 3 – For the center square: trim the appliqued square to 2 ½” x 2 ½”.

These pieces all fit together perfectly! The block now measures 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" and will finish at 8" square.

I ended up trimming 1/4" on the inner flying geese, then added the outer pieces. Block ended up 8 1/2".

I trimmed my flying geese to fit the "E" block, but the next set of flying geese don't fit...totally something wrong with the measurements.

I see in step 3 to "Trim the appliquéd square to 2-1/2 x 2-1/2. It would then fit the 2-1/2 Flying geese.

Hope that helps...

I have finished the letter "J" without any problem, but I cannot say the same for the letter "e". If I make the lime green block 3" X 3", it does not fit flying geese measuring 1 1/2" X 2 1/2". The video showed using the flying geese bloc loc, but the size for 1 1/2" is 3". I tried adjusting the geese and the squares to fit the 3" lime block, but got stuck again with the next flying geese that are not large enough. Are their corrections to the measurements?????
