There is now a spot in the Show and Tell section of the website to upload photos of your Mystery Quilts! I hope to see some of your tops there soon

Mystery quilt 11 Dec 2008 06:44 #29533

Here is a photo of my friend Di's mystery quilt from when I did it in Williston, ND. She played with the blocks before she put the four 6" blocks together to make the 12" blocks for a different look to her quilt.

I have two rows sewn together, 3 more to go and then borders, phew!! I am loving it. It really has been amazing as it came together. I've had some err stretching from the bias, but, I think I've dealt with that ok. I need another vacation so I can finish it. :) Sandi in FL

Kathy put the instructions for her mystery quilt in her member blog. I'm not sure what kind of access non-star members have to the blogs.

Is it toooo late to do it???

I hate dial up .... you miss all the fun of doing fun projects... by the time I get a DVD you all have gone on to something else.

Good Morning 04 Dec 2008 07:31 #29234

Hi everyone,

I can't wait to see photos of some of the mysterys :D It is always interesting to see what different colors choices do to a pattern. It is especially fun with mysterys because the participants haven't already seen the finished product to influence their choices.

It is a full day of open sewing today at my LQS. I am not working there today so I can just go and have fun sewing with everyone. Now to decide which projects to take!

Happy Quilting,
Kathy

You're welcome!

A Show & Tell spot would be a great idea but this way could work too. (And if anyone is interested in Webshots, it is free to create an account and I've always found them very easy to use.) But even though we're able to post these here, I'm unsure if ARJJ wants us to. I believe Ricky at one time said the issue was with available bandwidth. If any of the powers that be are reading could you please chime in and let us know if this is acceptable? I'll send an email as well.

Bridget, I think that with all the changes being made on the web site the bandwidth issue isn't there now. I sent an e-mail to GuruBob asking how to post photos on the forum and he replied that we should do it the way you described, except that he said he didn't have time to tell me how to do it!!! I figured that if Bob has directed me to import photos from another web site, it's got to be OK!

I think another earlier issue was that Ricky didn't want members straying to other web sites. He wanted us to stay here on TQS. But IMHO, sharing websites is part of what makes TQS great, and that by others sharing word of TQS is spreading to the other sites. I think it's a good thing and working just fine.

I don't have one of those accounts right now, but could set up one if needed. I am not finished with mine, got a few more blocks to finish up and then sew rows. Sandi in FL

OK! This will work!! And clicking on the thumbnail does take viewers to a larger photo! WHOO-HOO!

I really like having the pictures right in the forum threads, but a recent query to GuruBob said that we can't do a copy/paste here, but have to do it the way Bridget explained. THANK YOU BRIDGET!!!

The main problem I see with this is that not everyone has a Webshots or Flicker account with pictures posted. I guess if they are interested, they will get one set up?

For now....Kathy's group can post their pictures here, but maybe if you ask John or Bob, a special SHOW & TELL page might be able to be set up if you have enough interest?
