I’m so loving these quilts. Can’t decide what I like better as every one is so different and beautiful.

Wendy is pairing us “single teams” up because Some would not get to exchange a quilt. Lucky me - I get to do two exchanges and to have another go at making a miniature quilt! I may just learn to become more patient or at least figure out how to do perfect points, or not :silly:

Today I have been continuing quilting a hopefully soon to be given to it’s recipient long time WIP ( quilting about half done) and sandwiching a baby quilt. Tomorrow I get to select the fabrics for the mini and continue on making the top for another baby quilt... good times! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I want to live in Idaho. Yes I had fun making a personalised quilt for Marilyn and wondering what she was up to. It's like looking through a window on a really cool scene. Now I know it's Marilyn's journey to her quilt shop it's even better.

Geneva your quilt is so good and the curves make it really interesting. I've been appreciating modern quilts more and more recently and must have a try perhaps inspired by Matisse. Congratulations on being a reserve that must feel special. Here's hoping some forget to post theirs in time.

Anyway here's my effort showing my 'Ordinary Day' and a walk to a quilt shop to a lovely surprise.

Hi! Everybody ! Wow, such terrific quilts showing up ! Can't wait to see more. Hoping TQS can set up a gallery here of all
the participants. That would make it easier for all . Everyone has a big investment of time and effort in this project! All winners one way or another!

Dawn...about the bleed....we always learn! You will always see it, but looks like you've got the worst removed! Beautiful all the same!
And love the view from your deck! Flathead Lake ?? Surely looks like Montana! Very stylish and painterly ! Not called "Big Sky " for nothing!

I was so lucky to be paired with Wendy! Now, that might have worked against us ...I'm glad I don't have to wait a year+ to have my quilt! I'm
sure she'll post it soon. It is very personalized for both of us and tells a great story about where she lives and what we do for fun. We chose
to work a landscape in 3 panels with a poem I like called "Ordinary Days" as inspiration. I think we did a grand job!! I sure got a surprise when
I saw a rendering of a quilt I made long ago in it !!

This is Wendy"s quilt...a bit of my part of Idaho and our abundant wildlife !

Ok Wendy.. your turn !

Dawn, each photo you've posted of your jewel quilt is so much fun to look at! It is gorgeous!! I'm glad you were able to work around the pen issue. Thanks for teaching us to watch out for that! And your mini is so wonderful. I feel calm when I see it! Congratulations on being a reserve finalist.

Lotti, your stars are amazing! So precise and colorful. I'm sorry your partner didn't participate. She is going to treasure the quilt you made her.

Luann, good to hear from you! Hope all is well.

My partner and I are one of the reserve teams. I don't wish anyone ill, but it would sure be cool to have our quilts travel with the others! My partner lives in Rome. We both like more modern quilts so decided to do a take on a Jean Wells style quilt. I had fun making this quilt "To Rome With Love." The color in the close ups is a more true color of the quilt. My husband and I took so many pictures of the quilt trying to get a more clear color version. I think it looks more yellow due to the yellow in the quilt competing with the other two colors. Or at least it's a good excuse!

Thank you one and all! I see that my jewels quilt posted upside down and not very clear. I am postiing another so that you can see the quilting better, AND help me with some suggestions for a name. I don’t have a clue with this one!

And, Lotti, that is sad that your partner’s quilt did not get entered! It is an AWESOME quilt. You spent a lot of time on that one! Love it!

You all amaze me! I check in often, just not real talkative right now, that’s actually strange, no????

I love that I can drop in and out of conversations and see what others are doing.

Thanks to everyone of you for keeping things moving along.

Dawn your Jewel quilt was quilted beautifully I hope you are happy with the colour remedy now. To me it looks perfect.
Congratulations, a reserve finalist! You may well get displayed. Your quilt is fab, I really want to visit and sit on your deck :)

Lotti a shame your partner did not enter I hope they made you a quilt. Your quilt really sparkles and so many stars! Its lovely. I'll post mine when I've had another hours sleep. :)

They are both super beautiful quilts, Dawn. As for the pen... we live and learn.

As for the IMQE, received the information that I was one of sixteen “single entry teams”, where only one of the team members managed to enter the quilt, and therefore not qualified for the selection. Not that I had great hopes as I have discovered that mini quilts are not (yet?) my thing, being way too impatient and inaccurate and way too fond of veering off the set plan  :silly:

Her is my entry. Hoping to get it sent to my partner soon.

Okay, back to the bleed. I discovered the color that bled when my longarm gal spritzed my quilt, was a pen that I used. I did a lot of “artistic” coloring on some of the fabric jewels, so that the zig zag on the raw edge did not show. I THOUGHT all archival, pigment, waterproof pens were the same. Wrong! Stick with the Pigma pens! Lesson learned. Since I used both types of pens throughout, I have no clue which areas cannot be exposed to water. Sad! Anyway, I resorted to a very mild wate/bleach solution. I had no choice.

But, my longarmer did a fantastic job! I am super pleased!

Now, on to the IMQE. There were 24 chosen teams. My partner and I were not one of them. There were 6 Reserve Finalist teams chosen, just in case some quilts do not get there in time, or whatever. We were there! I am a Reserve Finalist. Her is the quilt I made. It is 18” square, and a picture of where I live, complete with my deck.

This is not the photo that I submitted. Totally not square!

Time for bed! Later all!
