Lovely quilt Annis... as usual!
I don't quilt nearly enough. Since my grandson moved in with us in September (he was 1 year old then) my quilting time is less. Though they will be moving into their own place soon, so I should have more time. Parker, my grandson loves to come in the sewing room with me to "help". I've had to put things up high and so that causes me to not have things where I usually use them. But I want all my grandkids to love my sewing room. So, I am happy to have Parker rearrange things for me.
I keep a mental list, which isn't very smart, of things I need to accomplish. Quilts that need to be made for babies, weddings, donations, etc. Then quilts that are simply for the purpose of creating, art quilts, etc, are last on the list. That probably isn't very smart.
I thought I would quilt a lot more when I retired. And I do, but not nearly as much as I thought I would. Sometimes I just like to go in my sewing room, sniff the fabric, pet the fabrics, look at all the fun threads, read the books and look out the window. I'm trying to give myself permission to not feel as if I must create something amazing all the time.
Thanks Wendy for putting this question out here. It's been good to think about the answer!
Take care,
Geneva
