Everywhere I look on the Forum, there's more goodies that Lorna has made--great two modern quilts, Lorna!

Hi Marianne,
I really like your quilt. It looks just right for a lightweight summer quilt. There are a few men in my family who would like to have one like this. I have some precuts that I need to use. Is there a pattern?

This is my last finish for 2014 and the last one I will share here.
It is a very quick and "rough" quilt (or is it? maybe it is a blanket). It consists of a flannel sheet, a layer cake, a charm pack and it should have been a mini charm pack but LQS didn't have any suitable colours so went with a charm pack and cut the charms into quarters. Turned out to be a good idea because the charm pack I already had contained a lot of plain squares and was not what I wanted. I don't usually buy pre-cuts; I don't like them but had to get the layer cake and charm pack for a class; ended up not liking the test block we did so never did anything with either pre-cut pack until now. The squares are sewn to the sheet using the tripple zig-zag stitch on the machine.

Take care
Marianne

Love these quilts! what a great idea. So the squares are sewn raw-edged to the flannel sheet?

And did you get all your gifts made as well? I really don't think you work Lorna at all

Love the quilts quite different to your appliqué ones :)

Yes I did get the gifts done. The pics are posted in the forum we talked about gift ideas--CW challenge.

Marianne, love that 'quilt blanket'. I make "Community Quilts" (for charity) for my guild and this would be a fun project. I imagine it would be easy to add a layer of batting on top of the flannel and then quilt down the squares on top. I wouldn't need the precuts, could just cut up yardage I have in those dimensions. I like that it is a quilt-as-you-go pattern, too. Thanks for sharing!

Terry, you are absolutely right on giving credit where credit is due! I was WRonG to have suggested otherwise!!!

I just noticed your T-shirt in your avatar. Have you seen the Farmer's Wife quilt book? I love reading the great testimonies by women of the farming world and have those blocks on my bucket list.

It looks great, Marianne. Isn't it wonderful when you get to use some of those fabrics you did not know how to get around.
Sorry to see you leave. Have a nice 2015.
