Ok, Wendy, It won't happen 'til the DH is away. I have some dark sky fabric and if I could find the right fabrics to go with I could make a few small ones as gifts if they're any good. Trouble is the stash is all over. I've seen that fabric somewhere a few months ago. There's no place to organize the stash except the basement.
I must have reached critical mass in my house, because I am losing lots of things. That's incentive to use up stuff, give it away and to resist buying anything new. (I need to find a group of messies anonymous, or start one.)
There's a quilt show in November nearby that I was planning to take a class on applique and I have no idea what to do. I actually think I should stop taking classes and finish what I've started. I can't find a book I have on applique that has a nice fall scene. I like the idea of doing something with leaves. Except raking them which is what I'm supposed to be doing now. So I'll be going outside right now. Best to get as many of them up before the storm makes the rest of them come down. DH can't rake too much anymore. More excercise for me!

What's OH? Old husband? We won't say obnoxious. I watched Karen Eckmeier this morning as he is getting badly needed sleep. He interrupted a long nap during the dinner hour last night to "request" dinner which interrupted my watching of the beginning of the video. I figured Fri. night I'm spending essentially alone with no plans, and TQS can come to the rescue. So nice to be able to pick up where you left off. I want to make one of those village landscapes. What a stash buster. She used all kinds of colors and is color blind so she sees value better than most of us. I also like her wearables and want to make some of those too. Thanks for the advice on OH's. MIne has Polymyalgia Rheumatica so I have to understand that he's down for the count or under the weather so to speak. Thanks for the advice on staying positive. I really have so much to be thankful for. Jan (with a chihuahua, no chickens)

Jan you're symptom free and you are going to stay that way, keep positive and keep quilting and we will keep it away.

OH's don't resent the hobby they just think they are getting less attention and need boosting. I've learn't to keep a project with hand embellishing so I can be with OH and he thinks he's getting attention. or take the laptop down and put earphones in so I can listen to the quiltshow

Maybe 6 months after my successful surgery my melanoma surgeon said I'm not out of the woods with my melanoma. I think he might say that I was after a few years of no problems. But I was reading this thread a year later and I am so thankful to be symptom free. I have made my son's quilt and started a bed quilt for him. I think I'd better get going on it, it needs to be basted. Only problem is my husband resents that I have this hobby. I guess I'd better make the next quilt for him. Thanks for the happy reaction to my old news. Will take a prayer that the luck holds though. Thanks Jan

Thanks Margo. That sounds like it will make a great throw. I thought I'd put the squares on point. But that would require setting triangles. But it would look nicer. I still have to finish my son Sean's wall quilt based on a drawing he did in 8th grade that was cool. It requires a bent checkerboard and some cloth weaving to make checkerboard spheres. Since I got the melanoma diagnosis I wonder how many quilts I'm going to get the chance to make. Thanks for your prayers, Margo. I need to keep my positive attitude. I hope to make quilts in heaven. That's a funny thought. I have a love of doing this, though I've only finished 3 quilts so far. With love, Jan
