Sewskeel,
I love your hair. How did you make it? That's what I'm having trouble with right now.
Thanks

Barbara1259, I love your completed face! The hair is spectacular and the glasses awesome!

Thank you so much, it’s not as abstract as others that I love. But for my first it was great fun

I added the hair after viewing today's FB broadcast. Thanks, Alex, for leading us! I am excited to add a garment, and some meaningful symbols and elements. My Texas and family trait big hair didn't leave me much room, though! LOL We will see how I can rearrange.

Not sure about how great of a tech person I am! :) Still raw beginning. Having fun!

I think most people are working a bit differently than I am. I'm not thinking about the things I like or are important to ME. I have another person in mind while I making this project, so I spent a good deal of time surfacing fabrics in colors that could represent this person's background, achievements, family, etc -- and that's where I started as I was going through my stash and looking for elements I'd be adding later.

It would be just as easy to pick a color you like, pick two other colors on the colorwheel that would make up and triad and move on from there. Or you could look for an inspiration fabric and then pull colors from that ... just like any quilt.

I am just learning how to use this. How do I upload my face?

Use the Search box, type Photo and lots of posts will come up about this, In several of them I included a link to a 6 minute video on how to do this.

Glasses? I’m not cutting out the “glass” part but am putting my eyes on top of the shape.

Do you pick a pallette and select fabrics ahead of time and then choose from this set or are you going to your stash for each next part of the face?
