Thank you again Alex. I was hoping you would show us how to appliqué and once again, you delivered. I learned so much with this project and it was the perfect size for a quick project. I wanted my fabric to represent me. I'm from Maryland, my spouse is a chef and sommelier, the Derby is always around my birthday (except this year), we love picking blueberries and why not have purple hair in fantasy land?

Padma99, I cut the lettering out on my Cricut machine. First time I'd tried that and learned that I first needed to adhere fusible to the fabric before telling the machine to cut. I definitely will use this on future projects!

The circles to the left represent my granddaughters and things we do together. I did not want to cover the hair as it not only represents my natural curl but also the design looks like one of my favorite designs to use when I longarm quilt.
