Margo, I think everyone who sees your quilt would agree that is awesome, one of the heirloom, keepers. Great baskets and beautiful applique. zMargo wrote:

I'm way behind, but here are my baskets. I need 1 more for the top middle, which is the left in this picture. LOL Then the blank spaces will be filled with HSTs , pinwheels or whatever. It has been a learning experience. Edita's fabrics are beautiful.

Piecing is not my strength but figuring things out is. I can’t follow directions (recipes are impossible so I am lucky my husband cooks) I used EQ8 to help me design the quilt and to out some order in my thinking. That must sound crazy because Eq8 is not easy but it was for me. My blocks were all slightly off size and I you’ll see invented a couple of new baskets. Every seam I sewed then ripped to sew it again. (Ripping is my new handcraft)
Even today as I was finally finishing the quilt I seemed the last border upside down.
I am excited to be done! What do you think?

Finally, my combination basket/mystery top is finished! When you saw my first post you weren't sure where I was headed with the partial black strips in the corners; this was my vision. The biggest thing I learned in this project is that busy quilts aren't my favorite style AND my math skills haven't improved much since school. I figured my border had to be "in your face" to distract from the business of the center. I have blocks left over, so now to figure out how to use them.
