But then I wondered if I need to be careful while pressing/setting seams? Will it shrink or melt if hit with my iron that’s on cotton heat setting?

It is a bacon press! I found it at my regional grocery store on the aisle with the cookware. You may still be able to buy them at a Cracker "Barrel restaurant if you have one close by. Mine is by Lodge Cast Iron company. It is 4 1/2" X 6 3/4" and weighs almost 3 lbs. It is working really well with these 6 1/2" blocks.

The block on the right is New Album modified and using complimentary colors. In the real world the block on the right probably has a defferent name. But the result is where my heart and and fabric took me.
