You got a chance to guess who the winner of the TQS category at Houston 2015 should be. There were many beautiful quilts. The winners are:
1st - Golden Girl by Hollis Chatelain
2nd - Trilogy by Peggy Brown
3rd - Girls are Strong by Hollis Chatelain
HM - Bailando en la Noche (Dancing in the Night) by Shelly Stokes
HM - Pink Bird by Judy Coates Perez
The stitch work on these quilts is amazing. We have a new slideshow that will give you a chance to see the quilts a little closer. Under each picture is a magnifying glass. After clicking on the "See The Quilts" button, click on the magnifying glass and then run your cursor over the quilts. You will get a zoom box to give you a closer look. You may have to wait a bit for the zoom to get the much larger picture loaded so you can see.

Here's a time-lapsed video of Susan Carlson creating "Crocodylus Smylus" from pencil sketch to finished quilt. "Stevie" is 22 feet by 6 feet and was completed in time to ship her to her premier at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts (showing through Jan 10, 2016). Susan will be at the museum on December 10th for a visit and lecture.

"A book, Heritage Quilts, will be available for purchase and will include stunning photographs and detailed descriptions of the quilts on display, together with patterns and instructions for each of Kaffe's quilts. Kaffe will also be lecturing and hosting a series of hands-on workshops. On loan from The Quilters' Guild of the British Isles/ Kaffe Fassett Studios."
