We all know that quilters are generous beyond words, particularly when one of our own needs assistance. Longarm quilter  Lisa Sipes, needs our help. Lisa has quilted Best of Show winners, a TQS BOM, and more. Last month she was in a horrific accident and lost her leg. While she is upbeat and ready to go on with her life, she is facing months of therapy and loss of income. With this in mind, a GoFundMe account has been put into place. Lisa explains what happened on the GoFundMe site and why she calls it the "Elizabeth Fund."

No donation is too small. Thank you!

We've opened up Lisa's show to everyone for the week so you can all see her at work in Episode 1506: Two Amazing Women and the Power of Quilting.

The actual title of the category is "Large Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted." Many of the quilts in this category are created by an artist and quilted by another. That is the case with this quilt. The quilting techniques are: Hand Appliqué and Free-Motion Quilting. Don't forget to check out the Piped Edging.

The Design Source (and the name of the quilt) is: Homage to Sallie Ann, a pattern by Di Ford-Hall.

It's that time of year, the second Saturday in July. The Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is this weekend and they are going to hang hundreds of quilts for one day only (rain or shine). Will you be there? Here's a video from a previous show. Stay tuned for quilt photos from this year's show...

Joen writes about her quilt:

Pizzazz is my impression of the colorations within a glorious winter sunset. I love working with colors that have spirit and interact well with each other. This quilt was really fun to create.

Experience the stunning color combinations on display in Joen Wolfram's quilts. These were on the set during the taping of Show 2101 at the Samoa Cookhouse. Also on display were the quilts of April Sproule. While we focused on April's work with clothing in the show, she has also created some fabulous quilts using her stenciling and embellishing techniques.

Heidi's Schlowers by Andrea Brokenshire

As a child on a trip to Disneyland, my baby sister, Heidi, was fascinated by the singing flowers. She called them schlowers. In Mexico, I saw this beautiful Cattleya Orchid and it reminded me of Heidi's singing flowers. This is for you, Heidi Biedy Boo - I love you. Techniques: Hand-painted silk appliqué fused on a pieced batik confetti background, machine quilted, thread painted. Materials: Silk charmesuse; cotton fabrics, cotton batting, Setacolor fabric paint, Misty Fuse fusible web; cotton, rayon, and polyester thread. Original design.

Not being the most organized person and knowing the wheels on the camper keep turning...taking me away from home... I was a little behind in prepping for class. Which meant I had to make a run into the Stitchin' Post in Sisters, Oregon for some last minute class supplies. The class I am taking is Easy as ABC with Sarah Fielke (Show 2004:  Into the Woods We Go - Embroidery with Whimsy in Stitches) from Sydney, Australia. I love fabric with script print or quilts that have a message, so I know this class is going to open a wonderful world for me!

While I was shopping I ran into June Jaeger, who is a member of the Sisters Quilting Family. June is Jean Wells Keenan's (Show 1301: New Directions in Quilting: Embracing the Possibilities) sister and Valori Wells Kennedy's aunt...talk about quilting magic! June's quilts are inspired by nature and feature landscapes and animals. I was lucky enough to have taken her Best Friends class at a previous Quilter's Affair and now have a wonderful quilt featuring my best friend Enzo :).

I am always inspired by designers who take us out of our comfort zones where we can test our quilting mettle! As a quilting community it was such a wonderful gift when June moved to Sisters last year and became a local quilter, both she and her sidekick Willow!! As you can see she really has a knack for bringing home the scenery.

To enjoy a more in depth view of June's life and home you can see the Quilt Roadies video from 2016.

Have a wonderful week and check in on my Facebook and Instagram for the excitement this week during the Quilter's Affair and the Sister's Outdoor Quilt Show!!!
