Sue McCarty did it again and won the Janome of America Best of Show at AQS Paducah 2012 for Harmony Within. As you may recall, Sue's quilt also won Best of Show at Houston International Quilt Festival in 2011. Sue made this quilt for her husband on a longarm and "all the motifs are symbolic of the harmony two different sentient beings can find within marriage."

Claire Victor's Paper Cuts looks like an arts and crafts project right before you begin, except in this case her quilt is finished. She "envisioned this quilt as pieces of colored paper, suspended, some intersecting." Winning Best Modern Design at Pacific International Quilt Festival 2019, this English Paper Pieced quilt's "strong geometric shapes and colors have a retro as well as modern feel."

Paper Cuts by Claire Victor of Scottsdale, AZ won Best Modern Design at the Pacific International Quilt Festival (PIQF) 2019.

Lisa Walton, textile artist and past President of SAQA, talks to Sheila Frampton Cooper (Show 1306) about her quilt, Ruins of Roussillon, which was inspired by a village in France. Sheila is renowned for her intricate piecing, which she creates one piece at a time, often building upon a central nucleus for a design.
