This is a fun, short video showing what the Quilt Alliance is doing for the quilting world. One of their chief sayings is, "Quilts often outlive the Quilter," and they stirve to get the history and the stories of a quilt told to later generations. How? Take a look.

Learn more about the importance of documenting your quilts in Show 2509 with Amy Milne, Executive Director of the Quilt Alliance.

Bobbie Bergquist, owner of Quilters Treasure, needs your help. A donation page has been set up on Facebook (see link below).

"Today we lost everything. Our business & personal belongings. We are self employed and travel to Quilt Shows. Everything was in the motor home. We are both safe and saved our cell phones. Not sure yet what we are going to do. Right now we are counting our blessing. It was suggested by FOX26 to start a go fund me page. Not sure how it works. We can only trust that God has a plan & will help us through this." - Bobbie

There's still time to make this fun-loving mummy pillow by Stacy Schlyer before Halloween (or just learn how to make a slipcover). We particularly love the glow-in-the-dark eyes...

Cristina Arcenegui Bono of Spain has done it again with this wonderful quilt, Harmony. It is similar to a quilt we presented earlier called The Jump, in which she brings to life a cute little girl with nothing but some thread and a few dots of red. We'd like to live in Harmony's world, it looks like a fun place to be.

Harmony was exhibited at the Pacific International Quilt Festival 2019.

Lilo recently visited the European Patchwork Meeting in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, France and discovered a wonderful exhibit they were featuring there. Swiss quilt group patCHquilt was celebrating their thirtieth anniversary by putting on a showcase of 100 challenge quilts for the occasion. The challenge was open to all members of the group of every skill level and each quilt had to adhere to the following criteria:

  • Works must be original, not from a kit and must include a red border.
  • They must be 30 cm wide, 120 cm long, and displayed portrait style.
  • The quilt must include at least 1/2 of the Edelweiss fabric (that each person received), and feature a piece of that same fabric that is 10 cm x 10 cm in size.

To join in the celebration with patCHquilt, we will be featuring four of the challenge quilts each week that were displayed as part of the exhibition at the European Patchwork Meeting.

This week we will be featuring a bonus quilt from Susan Vogel, who we will be sitting down for an interview with TQS when we visit the Houston International Quilt Show next month.

Please enjoy the next five quilts from Susan Vogel, Beatrice Zahnd, Brigitte Ricard, Brigitte Rossetti, and Cäcilia Arnold.

We found this quilt at the Pacific International Quilt Festival 2019 and we knew right away that Ricky would love it! It features Hamilton from the Broadway musical of the same name. If you watch Show 2106 with Meg Cox or Show 2108 with Deb Boschert, you'll learn more about his love for the show.

Look closely at the quilting, you'll see she's put in words and figures from various shows.

Kymona Tracey shows you to make these adorable Halloween Mini Treat Bags. Depending on the fabric you use (only a few fat quarters), they'd be great for any gift. PLUS, she uses the cutest little iron we have ever seen.

Amy Milne speaks with Alex Anderson about her show on TheQuiltshow.com and the mission of the Alliance to see quilting keeping growing and the history not be lost. It's a fun talk, and even includes a quilting pledge???
