Hello Everyone,

Here's my chance to blog a bit (smile). We have received a few tech support emails regarding the pricing of the Series 1 DVD as it was explained in the January 29, 2008 Volume 2, No. 5 Newsletter. This blog hopefully explains the pricing of the DVD with a bit more detail.

The Retail price of the Series 1 DVD is $49.95.

The discounted price of the Series 1 DVD is $19.95. This discount is available only to members who have purchase Series 1 online. An additional 5% discount from the Quilt Show Shoppe for all Star Members is applied, bringing the total price down to $18.95.

If you have purchased Series 2 or 3, but not Series 1 and want the Series 1 DVD, your price is $24.95 plus the additional 5% discount.

Charter members who pre-purchased the DVD back when we were just starting, no additional amount is due. We will simply ship your copy when the DVDs become available.

Hope this helps to clarify.

Each Super Seminar brings a special memory, never to be repeated again - perhaps it was Saturday morning I will never forget.

and so it goes - the two and a half days press on - with the evening concert as a must attend event. In fact my family and friends came - even those who are not quilters. Tongue out

OK - I have kept this off the blog for the past two weeks - not only did I drop and break my digital camera, but my big girl computer died - TWO TIMES! She went to the hospital for a week, came back fine, then passed on again 5 days later (thank goodness for my laptop). My precious PC bit the dust. So, in the back ground Ricky was chanting the praises of HIS computer - Apple. In fact he has been heavily campaigning for my conversion for several months. Once again, Ricky has convinced me to step into the unknown - Now he tells me SHE needs a name - please advise. Smile

PS: Hey Ricky, I created this blog on my new big girl - Thank you! I think I am going to love her.

This is no small matter - It takes many hands to bring a Super Seminar to an area - from start to finish - there is SOOO much to do! Thank you ladies of Diablo Valley Quilters!

We have NOT forgotten you - but we are BUSY! I am taking video to let you know how Livermore's SS is going - by the looks of things - pretty well! Did you know that quilters know how to groove with the tunes?

I am so excited that Ricky's Super Seminar is being held in Livermore this weekend! The facility is literally two blocks from where I grew up and went to school. Although this town has certainly changed over the years, it is still my town!

I look forward to seeing the entire gang - Ricky, Justin, Libby, Pat, Bob the thread guy (and of course his trusty side kick Heather), Jeff (I wonder if he's got a date?) and this time our web cruise director Lilo will also be in tow. And if that isn't good enough - my quilting friends from the area! YIPEE - it's not only a new day, but an exciting day!

That's right! We are planning to publish the first TQS quilt calendar. The images in the calendar are to be "styled" photos of your quilts. Most importantly, it is a photo contest, not a quilt contest. So the beauty and quality of the photography is what will be judged. Of couse, the quilts do have to be beautiful and the photo needs to have that wow factor.

The submissions have been coming in, but we are finding that many of the entries are not "styled" - but rather "flat shots" of the quilts. A styled photo is a photo of the quilt in an enviornment. Imagine a beautiful lemon and white applique quilt on a white rocking chair in a garden of daffodils - perhaps with a tray of lemonade sitting nearby.

Here's some do's and don'ts.

1. Don't send a photo with a time stamp on it.

2. Don't send any flat shots - they will not be considered.

3. Imagine a month that would work for your "styled photo"

4. Harsh lighting and flashes may not enhance your efforts.

5. High quality digital images are a must.

6. Series #1 Star Members should watch show #112 to see us create a style shot in the show.
