In the TQS Forum, several of our members have been asking each other about help for their Bernina BSRs. Well our production sponsor Bernina already has a wonderful step-by-step listed on their website to help get you started. Click here to the Bernina website to find out that "with a few basic tips and tricks, you'll be a master at free-motion stitching with BSR in no time!" Thanks Bernina!
It´s really hit or miss on whether the ship´s internet will let me upload the pictures. Please subscribe to Series 3 so I can pay my bill (at .40/per minute) and be allowed off the boat! Keep on voting and we will keep moving forward.
On the morning of the last day of our recent La Veta Quilt Retreat, I took the students on a drive up to Autumn Rock. We didn´t see any bear, but we did see about 100 elk. I still have a vision that someday this will be a place to hold quilt retreats. In the meantime, we can only make these short visits.
Isn´t this fun?! I will try to give you updates on the voting. You can tell by now that there is one fabric everyone had to use. Great work.
Okay, before I go any further. Yes or no? Stop or go?
The first picture is the Oslo Town Hall. It has been fun putting these pictures together because the blocks are so creative. They are even better in person. So start voting and we will have a run off. If the ship internet allows, I will try to put up 2 a day. Enjoy!
What a week! Each day we had a morning chat and explored our creative assets as well as our creative obstacles. Each one of these beautiful quilts was created by the artist and in doing so they attempted new techniques. Each individual is encouraged to follow their on vision for the week. The LQVR retreat does not have a typical agenda where everyone does the same project. The results are great, but the internal results are what makes it such a unique event. I´m very proud to show you what these students accomplished. Naturally, much of it is in the details of their techniques and cannot be seen in these photographs. Nonetheless, I think it is great!
MKNavy90 has a daily Member Blog journal of her days here. Check it out.
Today we spent time in Germany - Many of the quilters chose to take a three hour train ride to Berlin, but we decided to stay closer to the ship and visit Rostock. It is a fascinating city that goes way back in time, but basically had to rebuild after WWII. The newer buildings are beautiful and then here and there you will see an old building. We ran into a quiltshop and noticed that a quilt show is next weekend. I was pretty thrilled when I saw that they had my Simply Stars book translated in German. But that was only to be topped when FINALLY I found pickled fish to enjoy (sorry Ricky) - so - so good!!
Over the next several days you will see many blocks from folks on the Baltic Cruise. They are all winners but tell us which one strikes your fancy and why. The blocks are numbered from 1-6 and the car tells you when number one starts.
