Appliqué lovers rejoice! It’s time to meet, visit with, and enjoy the work of that hand-appliqué dynamo, Becky Goldsmith, designer and co-founder (with Linda Jenkins) of Piece O’ Cake Designs in Episode 611. Becky demonstrates how to appliqué “the Piece O’ Cake way” with unique methods that include making laminated appliqué templates, using upholstery vinyl for placement, pieced appliqué backgrounds, and her signature needle-turn stitching.  And you don't want to miss Ricky's freezer paper demo that let's you create an original applique design.  It's a show packed with great info and tips!  To watch the show click here.

Meet Laurie Tigner (a new quilter making a total career change), Heidi Severson with Olfa, and Sharon Pederson (Miss Rose of Sharon herself, episode 512). Alex and I plant the seeds for a TQS extravaganza and fans stop by to say hello. I always enjoy meeting fans and you never know what they are going to say. Have fun peeking into Spring Market 2010. Welcome to my world.

BTW, for the first clip with Laurie, I was spellbound by HER story and SHE is what quilting is all about - but that's not how she took it - so... you'll see.

Once a quilter has their mind set on something you can be sure it's going to happen. Such is the case with this delightful market attendee. If you got hurt at a quilt event would you skadoodle on home or fight on with sheer quilttitude!

As you might expect, part of what makes going to market so great is that it is a huge reunion because so many of the industry professionals are there. In a matter of seconds you can be surrounded by incredible and talented quilt teachers and designers. In this video you'll see some TQS favorites as well as rising star - Sarah Vedeler.

As promised here are more fabulous quilts from the International Quilt Festival in Chicago. TQS member, Ritzy, sent more photos and shares them here.  This time we'll see quilts from the Celebrate Spring exhibit, the Traditional Treasures 2010 exhibit, and the Quilts: A World of Beauty exhibit.

You'll see the creativity of some of our TQS guests as well.  Look for works by David Taylor (Show 406), Melinda Bula (Show 501), and Joanie Zeier Poole (Show 509), along with inspiration by Libby Lehman (Show 112 and Show 513).

Thanks again, Ritzy!
