Superior Threads' "SewGlow" thread has be selected as one of the coolest products of the year.  They are currently in a competition and need our help!

Here's what Superior says:

"We are thrilled to announce we are a finalist for the Launchpad event at the SEMA show this year. SEMA is to car enthusiasts what Houston Quilt Festival is to Quilters. Our cool new industrial thread, "SewGlow," was selected as one of the coolest products of the year and we are currently in a competition.

Please help us by voting for Superior on the Launchpad Facebook page. With a few clicks, you can help us make the top 5 and present at the SEMA show in Las Vegas this coming November. To vote, click the "Vote Now" button below, click the "skip" or "continue" button on the prompt which appears, and then click the little "Vote" icon on the SewGlow image. Did you finish making all your half-square triangles?  Wasn't Lynn's method easy?  Now it's time to move on to the "Y" square.  Lynn's book is available in the TQS shop; click here to order.

Click here for the .pdf instructions to make this week's block which contains 20 "Y" squares and 8 half-square triangles.  There isn't a single "triangle" in the whole block even though it looks like it is full of them.

Becky Goldsmith (who appeared in Episode 611) is one of the true "Queens of Appliqué," but she is also a "Master of Color."  In this episode she shares great information about the use of color and its various elements:  how white can freshen the look of a project; how to identify and use clear colors vs. gray ones; and how to combine the two into one quilt.  She shares some of her many quilt creations, including her recent "Ugly Fabric Challenge," in which she used every unsightly piece her blog readers sent to her.  Still near and dear to her heart, Becky shares her secrets for making wonderful appliqué letters, and getting around tricky turned corners.  She even shows how to appliqué your signature.  Lastly, she shares an amazing technique for binding quilts, which may be your biggest challenge to duplicate!  Alex then demonstrates a super fast, three-hour baby quilt top, made with a center panel and a border of flying geese, and she shares her speedy and accurate technique.

Star Members can watch Becky in Show 1704 - Color Challenges and a Quickie Quilt when it debuts on August 17, 2015.

Everyone from beginners to advanced can get it. Such a variety of subjects. I’m sure glad I didn’t miss this one!”

This innovative, precept-upon-precept approach to teaching utilizes professional and enlightening multimedia demonstrations by the world's most celebrated quilting instructors. The variety of techniques and information covered will inspire both traditional quilters and contemporary quilt artists. The scope of information will appeal to quilters of all levels of expertise. Regardless of your quilting style, ability, or purpose for making quilts, this seminar is for you! See for yourself why thousands have said, “This is the best seminar I've EVER taken!”

Unlike traditional quilting events, you will learn from all of the instructors. The technical aspects of the seminar allow Ricky and his guest teachers to present a variety of exciting topics on a large screen where you can see the minutest detail from the comfort of your seat.

Remember, the Ricky Tims Super Quilt Seminars are only presented in select regions. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity while it is in your area. Said another participant, “Never in my twenty years of quilting have I had such a mind-opening experience as the Ricky Tims Quilt Seminar.”
